can you refuse hysterectomy and just have large cyst removed instead???
Hi All, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with turning down a hysterectomy and just getting a large cyst removed instead on the nhs? There is pressure on me to have a hysterectomy but I don’t want this and instead just want the large cyst I have removing and to then manage my symptoms with

Chances of getting a hysterectomy on the nhs aged 30?
Anyone had any success getting a hysterectomy at aged 30 ? If so what did you have to do to persuade your gp it was right for you ? After 12 yrs of back and forth with no progress, I want to be able to make a choice myself. Finally a gp suggested endo in 2021 but nothing is confirmed. My ovaries

Hysterectomy at 40 no endometriosis
I had my hysterectomy 2 days ago and although I am in pain I'm feeling relieved 😌. My consultant has told me he has found no signs of endometriosis and that my uterus was severely scarred from my 3 c-sections and my coil that had been embedded in my uterus. My bladder was stuck to my uterus and that

Left Side Stitch
Hi Everyone! I'm a 48 year old female that had a partial hysterectomy 5 years ago. Recently back in 12/22 I started having a dull pain almost like a side stitch without exercise on my left side. It seems to come on around BMs but on occasion it can come on at different times as well. It can radiate from

Hysterectomy at 30
Has anyone had a hysterectomy to help with endo pain and did it work? I’m 30 and yes, I know I am young but I have also suffered with severe endo pain for 15 years and have literally tried all options provided to me with nothing working. I’m gay, so if I want children in the future then I will adopt.

hysterectomy
hi I’m due to have a laparoscopic hysterectomy next month. just wanted other ladies opinions on how long I will be off work. I know it does depend on what work you do so I work as a lifeguard in a leisure centre so am worried about going back too soon as I will always have to be ready to act on any

vasospastic angina
Hi, I had a radical hysterectomy one month ago. Since then vasospastic angina has got worse. Can this kind of surgery and drop in hormones cause issues. I am told it will settle but to date it hasn’t and resulted in two trips to A&E. Grateful for advice. Many thanks

Staying positive/ mind set
How do you keep going?! Until now my pain was manageable. But now nothing helps but codeine. I have 2 kids. I'm exhausted. I'm self employed so missing my work colleagues support network. Plan is to have a hysterectomy but can't have it for a year. I just feel very stuck. Are GPs supposed to help

Ovaries- stay or go?
Hi everyone. After over 30 years of pain and extreme bloating over the last two years, I’ve sadly no other option than to have a hysterectomy, I’ve been told. I’ve only ever had two laparoscopies in 2012. They’re reluctant to remove my ovaries, stating all the health related issues it can cause,

Latest results
Hello, would anyone be kind enough to help me with my latest results? I have had an underactive thyroid since my early 20s and I have also been diagnoses with Hashimoto's, but do these results indicate I have now gone overactive? I had a full hysterectomy a year and a half ago and I'm not sure if that

Endo 'Stroke'
15 years ago I had endo ablation and 2 x 5cm ovarian cysts aspirated with success until now. Fast forward a relatively easy time of periods but on/off PMS with an undiagnosed progesterone intolerant body I am now perimenopausal at 47 years of age in health dire straits. I started on Evorel Sequi, changed

prolaspe
I have been told I have uterine and bladder prolaspe with anterior and postier repair. I have had a shelf pessary but had it in and out several times as it is uncomfortable and makes me sore. Have been using a Femicushion which is ok but am very unsure about surgery, a hysterectomy. Any advice would

Hello all, I have a question. I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2021. I went through 6 rounds of Chemo & had a total hysterectomy in September 2021. Since December of 2021 I have been in remission, & since January of 2022 I've been on Avastin treatment. But since about January of 2023 my Cancer

Slowly does it!
9 years ago I joined this group for support in losing some weight. I didn’t succeed. I only put on more weight, an extra 5kg. But in August 2020, my 58th birthday, I had an appointment at the hospital. It was a follow up after finding cancerous cells during a hysterectomy. I weighed 87.7kg, which for

Esophageal Scope - Anxiety is Ramping Up
Hi. My now defunct GP had referred me for this scope and I really didn't expect to hear back from the surgeon, however, they called and I'm scheduled for this Thursday, April 6th. I'm am petrified of any kind of twilight, new meds, being put "almost under". Because I fight it. Had a partial hysterectomy

Hello & help! Tocilizumab or Baricitinib?
hello, I’ve had RA for 10yrs, I’m 47 and this is the first forum I’ve joined, I’m battle weary, in a lot of pain, frightened and feeling the least optimistic I’ve ever felt since diagnosis. I know everyone reacts differently to each drug but I’m just looking for some hope… Had Etanercept circa 8yrs

After your diagnosis of uterine cancer, how was your experience with the healthcare system?
I was diagnosed in 2015 with Stage 1A, serous endometrial cancer. My gynecologist made the diagnosis after a suspected diagnosis of endometrial polyps. She performed a D&C with biopsy and made the diagnosis. Fortunately, she was on staff at a highly ranked university medical center and was able to arrange
