Hello, would anyone be kind enough to help me with my latest results? I have had an underactive thyroid since my early 20s and I have also been diagnoses with Hashimoto's, but do these results indicate I have now gone overactive? I had a full hysterectomy a year and a half ago and I'm not sure if that has affected anything, although my TSH has stayed at around the same level for ten years. My doctor lowered my Levothyroxine from 125mg to 100mg last August. Thanks so much in advance!
Ferretin - 128 (10-400)
Vitamin D - 126 (50-300)
Folate - 21.3 (8.83-60.8)
B12 - 422 (145-590)
I had a pretty comprehensive test done and it show I've got very high cortisol, iron and copper (my copper overload is as high as the chart allows and has been like that for the past five years or so)
I'm on a decent dose of Oestrogel HRT but my oestrogen levels are still low. The same happened with the patches and the spray so I don't think my body absorbs it very well. I took tablets for a while but I came off them (before testing, annoyingly!) because I didn't want to put any more pressure on my liver (I don't drink but I'm on medication for bipolar and ADHD).
Oestradiol - 193 (82-1461)

With FT4 & FT3 in lower half of range your are far from over replaced. There’s argument to increase.
I would speak to GP & say you don’t want to reduce based on low TSH as the thyroid hormones are low & would leave you having hypothyroid symptoms of left lower.
Your doctor it taught low TSH causes heart & bone issues but in reality it’s the high FT4 & FT3 which usually accompanies low TSH which causes the issues.
Hi PurpleNails, thanks so much for your reply. I've added some more information in my post. Idid and early draw and fasted. I've never taken Biotin. I think I will go and see another doctor because mine is quite flippant. She put me on the lower dose of Levothyroxine because she was trying to get my TSH levels up. She had recommended me to the CFS clinic but they refused to see me based on my TSH levels because they said that could be causing me to feel unwell. But my TSH refuses to move and I feel tired and have put on weight, so I don't think her plan is working!
That’s terrible, doctor treating TSH numbers not you as a person. Refusing to refer you until TSH in range….. having low FT4 & FT3 will contribute / cause symptoms.Definitely see another doctor.
ESSENTIAL to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Was this test above done early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription
Are you on any HRT?
Most people when adequately treated on just levothyroxine will have Ft3 at least 50-60% through range and usually Ft4 a bit higher at 70-80% through range
Your results look like you need dose increase in levothyroxine
GP will most likely refuse as TSH is low
you may need to go over the GP to endocrinologist
Email Thyroid U.K. for list of thyroid specialist endocrinologists and doctors
Thanks so much SlowDragon. I've popped some more info into my original post above. Yes, I'm still gluten and dairy free but I've put on about a stone in a very short space of time (but that could also be due to the surgical menopause). I'm taking quite a wide range of vitamins. I'm away at the moment so I don't have the full list but I try to cover most things (obviously I stay away from iron and copper) and most of my vitamin levels on the test are fine, thankfully.
