Anyone had any success getting a hysterectomy at aged 30 ? If so what did you have to do to persuade your gp it was right for you ?
After 12 yrs of back and forth with no progress, I want to be able to make a choice myself. Finally a gp suggested endo in 2021 but nothing is confirmed.
My ovaries are currently shutoff on 3 deso a day which makes me have constant suicidal thoughts . Last attempted sex for a few mins 8 months ago mainly because I felt bad for my partner , this rendered to have to work at home for a week as I couldn't stop peeing and in so much pain-on painkillers straight after .
We wanted to have kids and have been waiting out on the stupid laproscopy ( feels pointless delayed another 6m) but given the above I don't see how we could ever physically consider trying as I cant afford to be constantly being off work from pathetic attempts at trying.
GP is absolutely useless they did a med review last week and stupidly asked was 3 deso for contraceptive purposes who takes 3 for contraception 🤣 I sarcastically laughed like oh sorry thats funny ... read my notes.
my mam is 42 and was told she would be able to get one at 35/36. She said that she would very much like to go through with it after already having 3 kids. She is still waiting for that surgery to happen. Her gynaecologist hasn’t been in touch with her for years as she’s on the coil which has managed her symptoms. She wanted to call them and see if she is still on the waiting list or able to get it but she has just started a new job as a nurse so she doesn’t want to go through with anything yet.
I think it depends on whether you have had kids, how recently and who your gynaecologist is. As I think it’s unlikely my mam will get it anytime soon. But I do know someone from an endometriosis Facebook page who is 35 and getting it done next month.
Fight for yourself. Explain how it would be a good thing for you and how you don’t want kids or anymore kids.
