Hi, you can take too many vitamins and cause real damage to your body as a result.
I'd suggest that if you've even wondered if you're taking too many than that may be the case.
The RDA is the recommended daily amount and will be stated on the back of the bottle. Do not exceed this.
I studied nutrition at degree level and would advise a good varied diet over supplements any day. I too lack vit D and those of us shielding should definitely currently take a supplement. There are great natural ways though of getting vitamin D in your diet, just Google vitamin D rich foods.
Hi, taking vitamins can cause more harm than good. I had very low vit D and was given 20,000iu to be taken every other day by my consultant. It was very carefully monitored with regular blood tests. Water soluble vitamins will give you very expensive wee! Please either ask for a referral to a dietician to help you with a balanced diet to provide you with all the vitamins you need or seek a blood test from your GP and only take those vitamins you are deficient in under supervision.
Where can I find "fibromyalgia" experts
Far to many vitamins believe me a used to be a gym freak till things started going wrong still do bits and bobs when i can.if you eat even just a relatively healthy diet u ll be amazed at what our bodys can suck out of our food.vit D n iron fine if you get regular bloods taken that should also show any other deficiencies if your body dont need them dont take them, especially ones with MINERALS to much not cool.vit D cod liver oil, vit c, zinc, some b vitamins fair enough eat fruit and superfoods.even if you dont have a big appetite try as the real deal is far better.you dont want vitamin intoxication alot of them syptoms make you feel like you are vitamin difficiant. And of course water copious amounts.👍 a Dr once told me there is no proof they work and it was pointless me taking them but i still take vit D with omega3 vit C zinc magnesium and vitamin b6 also protein really good for our conditions all about moderation. Just my lal opinion after years of wasting money on supplements.
I would say they don't really look suitable. Try to get at least your Vit D checked then get a decent supplement if you need one and retest after a short while to see how well you are raising so that you don't take too much. I don't see any mention of magnesium which most people are low in and is really rather important. Try an oil spray or flakes in bath etc, doesn't have to be oral supplementation. Best wishes
Hi, the science of supplements is still.. barely a science. The only thing I want to add is that supplements are not regulated as medicine. That means that no one checks if i.e. the amount of vitamin C in a batch of vitamin C supplement is the same in all pills. You could be taking the same pill every day and getting a different dose. You could try pharmaceutical grade supplements which guarantee 99% purity in every pill of every batch. Yes, they do cost a bit more than the usual ones.
Also, a note on oil supplements like omega-3. Prefer the liquid ones over the tablets. Unsaturated fat gets very quickly oxidised and loses its nutritional value. Also, the liquid is more easily absorbed by the body.
