Sweating?

Hi, I do have fibromyalgia... although not as bad as some peoples, What I find very difficult is the amount of hot sweats... day in day out. Has anybody managed to reduce them, or taken something that seemed to make a difference.?

The dr wants me to take something for my blood pressure which is too high and i've read the side effects include 'bouts of hot sweating!!! Just what I need.... more of the same.

Anyone found a blood pressure med that didn't make you sweat?

I get it all the time. At night in bed is the worst. However I also get really cold and it takes ages to get warm. Up and down like a yoyo

Hi I'm nearly 64 I think my sweats are due to the stress it causes.. I did not have bad sweats during menopause which my sister did and they were terrible.i seem to get them when my fibromyalgia is in a bad flare up and I just cannot control them. I am having one at the moment and have had to get up and change the bed.my son was recently found deceased and I had to travel for 6hrs and then sort out everything.initially no sleep and chronic pain.now I'm back home the night sweats are terrible.told doctor but they thought nothing of it.I am actually literally sleeping naked with just a sheet and blanket I can pull up or down as the heat up builds to try to control it and an ice pack in my pillow.its nice the warmer weather is here in south at the moment as don't need heating on but even when I was going to a cold bed the night sweats come on.i wish I knew an answer to it.

I get very hot in the warmer weather, especially when indoors with no fresh air.

I just wanted to say l’m very sorry for the loss of your son. X

Thank you..it's been such a shock and awful..I have fans in every room as on a main road so keep windows shut due to allergies and indoor cats.. I also have thing that I put on with filters in, takes stuff out the air and puts out clean air..sorry cannot remember name of it, brain fog bad at moment 😕

HI Smoggie... Sorry to learn about your son. Sweating seems to be a problem with fibro... wonder if is partly due to anxiety, as a lot of us do have this sweating problem. Do wonder if it's more common women with fibro than men... might be good to know if our hormones are playing a part in it?.

Take care xx

My other son has problems too with sweats he is on thyroxin..so yes I think could be hormonal and stress related

I’m hormonal due to gynaecology problems and have suffered severe hot flushes and night sweats.

I also have high blood pressure. I take Rampiril. I found I felt much better, I didn’t feel so hot and bothered all the time. For me it was important to treat my blood pressure as I don’t want to put my body under any unnecessary strain x

Hi, that's interesting re: the Rampiril. a dr has prescribed amlodipine for high blood pressure, but I can't take that... awful side effects, swollen feet legs , sweats , dizziness. so perhaps it might suit me better. I can't stand more sweats onto top of the fibro ones. Our gp surgery is awful trying to actually see a dr... but I'll check it out with the pharmacist at the chemist.... might suit me better.?

I'm the same. It drives me mad! Sweat running down my forehead at times. I'm 67 so can't blame it on the menopause. I shall be following your post 😁. Hope someone has a magic remedy! Best wishes x

I feel your pain. I was offered beta blockers for migraines but just don’t want to go there, worried about weight gain and sweating as I have no more room in my life for either!

Hope you get some answers on here.
