It light of that I had some private bloods carried out and I am worrying that my iron levels are on the low side giving me symptoms. I take an iron supplement of gentle iron 40mg a day.

Nucleated blood cell count = 0 Ref range - 0 - 0.1 Iron Sat - 23% Ref range - 25% - 40% I'm concerned about the Iron Sat results? X

I get relief from PLMD with iron bisglycinate nightly. I did not take the iron for 48 hours and got an early morning blood draw fasted. My ferritin level has gone up to 48 but iron saturation is now 33% and I am worried about what to do next.

Well, I finally have a doctor who seems open to an iron infusion, so maybe I will actually get what I need now…. Still, it feels wrong to be excited…. My doctor is also testing my parathyroid, which I haven’t had done before. I am interested to see those results too.

I'm coming to the end of my bottle of three arrows heme Iron. I'm just wondering if there any other recommendations for a cheaper iron supplemem4 ? I can't really afford three arrows at the moment.

A question for Sue. I’ve been taking 3 x 200 mg ferrous sulphate tabs every other day as you advised but I’m experiencing side effects that I could do without at the moment. I don’t want to reduce the overall dosage and I want to ask if 2 tabs taken once daily would be a reasonable and safe alternative

Iron with sulfate or iron with gluconate? Do you have any suggestions or personal experience or opinions regarding this?

asked my doctor last week to order a full panel iron test. Lab order was written as IRON(F). 3 hours later get a message that preliminary result is iron high 172 gu/dl. Doctor will discuss results later. Nothing on Ferritin. Have an appointment with Neurologist next month.

What is a good trustworthy iron supplement to take?

I have been taking 50mg of iron bigylcinate every night which does help me sleep and diminish my RLS. But now my blood pressure as risen to the 130-140/70s and I am wondering if I am getting too much iron and that could be the cause of the blood pressure rise. Any ideas, anyone?

Hello all, I have been working on increasing my ferritin level and iron saturation by alternating Gabapentin 300 mg with iron bisglycinate and vitamin c gummie. However, I am unable to sleep on the nights I am taking the iron and gummie. Has anyone else experienced this issue? . Any advice?

It's possible to have a low brain level of iron but a normal blood level of iron. The two levels can be different. Diagnosing low brain iron Brain iron deficiency should be one of the first considerations when looking for a cause of RLS. But diagnosing low brain iron is tricky.

My iron infusion is scheduled for Monday, May 5. I’ve tapered my mirapex down to 0.0625 once a day. Does anyone have advice about how quickly I would see results from the infusion? Do you think I should completely end the mirapex before the infusion? Does timing matter?

A blood test showed that my brain iron was below what it needed to be so she issued a prescription for ferrous sulfate. My problem is that it causes constipation. I can request iron bisglycinate as I know that is less likely to cause a problem. I have some 20mg tablets already.

His platelets have come down but he still has raised red blood levels and a recent blood test showed high iron levels. Has anyone else had this happen. He may have to have a venesection.

Is the best & cheapest iron panel test to do the medichecks £49 one. I want it to monitor progress on iron supplementation. Do I need more than just the ferritin tested? Thank you!
