I took my last dose of 56mg Iron Bisclycinate on alternate nights having to accept this was the probable cause of regular unpleasant Stomach aches, well surprise surprise my result came back at 397ug/l I assume this indicates that I`m one of the 40% for whom iron makes no difference, strangely enough

because of his iron levels, we had appointment with the bowel constant on Tuesday, he’s going to fast track him for emergency endoscopy then maybe colonoscopy, in his case the doctor said 93% it’s cancer & 7% it’s not !

If my ferratin level is normal,why has my iron plummeted over the past few months?

I have been reading the posts about Iron Bisglycinate for a while now and thought that is wasn't for me because I have had bad reactions to iron before and I had a transfusion of iron a couple years ago and my ferritin is still over 200.

I know getting a source of iron which doesn't cause constipation, is a big challenge to many on this site. I'm wondering if anyone has tried this product? It is made by Solvotrin. Do ,please let me know how you have got on with it. Thanks in advance.

HiI usually stop taking iron a wk or so before ferritin or iron panel tests and wonder if u can please tell me if necessary? I did an iron panel couple months ago which said I need iron, but no capacity.

has anyone used spartone iron replacement sachets?

The Iron in yellow we don't understand and see it is low, but what exactly is it?

Anyway I was given iron infusion due to ferritin of 27. I just wanted anyone’s experience on what is safer considering I have cancer genetic condition is EPO or Iron infusion safer? Some research tells me EPO could trigger health problems and has more side effects than iron infusion.

Won't give me an iron infusion because my iron is within range. But no explanation as to why it has plummeted. All other symptoms..'must be due to something else.' Doesn't want to give me iron toxicity. That's his job... to see I get enough without harm!!

A condition where there is iron overload. I need venesection to remove the iron. Has anyone else experienced this?

But I’m thinking it’s a coincidence that since my iron infusion my ferritin has gone from 12 to 670, I’m wondering if the iron has affected my liver - the Doctor who did the iron infusion says it’s definitely not that, but I’m not sure. My GP has organised a liver scan for next week.

Does it mean I'm not one of the people who are going to find iron effective for RLS ...or does it need to be higher still? Is it worth continuing with the iron?

If I were to take a spray iron supplement would that interfere with my colonoscopy? If I can’t find out I’ll leave it and hope for the best

I apparently have an overload of iron in my system. I have been on iron tablets for years now due to low levels. I had a Total gastrectomy two years ago and have been taking iron tablets daily. Has anyone else had this problem. I cannot understand why this has happened.

He recommended that I begin taking an every other day dose of Iron Sulfate and Vitamin C. Has anyone experience with this treatment. A friend told me that this could help my cancer proliferate. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

How long was it after the iron infusion that you felt the benefit? How long after the iron infusion could you reduce your medication? Many thanks in anticipation that you may be able to help Isle of Axholme
