I take various supplements, vit d & k, magnesium, iron and vit c, zinc complex which has selenium in. B12.
I’ve always been tired, can someone comment on my t3 result? I don’t have t4 for some reason. I’ve managed to get my copper checked as was looking at zinc with copper and wanted to know if I’ve enough.
Thank you.

I’ve always supplemented with B12 and iron and my levels really don’t seem to change. I consume my daily intake of vitamin D too and my blood results is always the same.
My body is just not great at the uptake of vitamins and hasn’t been for a long time. I’ve a sluggish digestive system, I take a histamine friendly probiotic and algae omega 3 or flaxseed omega.
I wondered if my copper was low as most suggest it’s usually not if taking Levo.
I did request my zinc levels and t4 and selenium but they have denied me these tests.
I thought my t3 was high? Should it be lower? I’ve had liothyronine before and body not tolerated it at all.
I’m tired and not feeling great I think I’m perimenopause to.
I think we are all pretty poor at nutritional uptake which is why they recommend betaine hcl or cider vinegar to aid stomach acid
As far as I know if you supplement either copper or zinc the other will drop, so you aim to get them in balance and the supplement both at the correct ratio...
Your fT3 at 53%... little bit low? We don't know where your fT4 is so hard to know where you're at
Peri meno is massively debilitating and well worth getting yourself some HRT to help smooth it out... it very much mimics thyroid issues
Really?? That's a new one... it's hard enough getting good treatment when they do test let alone when they make excuses and don't even bother 😠
Have you ever tried splitting your dose morning and night, some find this helps get better conversion and with you on a high dose of T4 could be worth a try... along with tweaking your B12, folate, ferritin and Vit D levels up a bit 🤗
The NHS has been informed by a supplier (Becton Dickinson) that they have a global shortage of some tubes used for taking blood samples. As a result all parts of the NHS across the country are being asked to temporarily limit blood tests to urgent cases only.
I seem to request my bloods, my tablets and get little advice or input from my endo. I seem to know more than her which always worries me. I’m self managing.
I don't know much about copper other than someone once gave me a supplement saying "you need this" and I felt instantly awful..... years later and I get my zinc level checked and it is low, which suggests my reaction to the copper was due to already being high and out of balance with zinc 🤷♀️
FT3 is half way through range but TSH & FT3 tests aren’t a lot of use without FT4.
If supplements aren’t raising nutrient levels, I’m with Eeyores suggestion to try adding some ACV or Betaine + pepsin at meal times. Either will help drive gut motility, etc. Also if adrenals can withstand, leave space between meals as some important gut actions only start once the body isn’t digesting.
Also supplement digestive enzymes as these need a healthy pH to flourish, and short-chain fatty acids if you wanted to take the histamine stabilising protocol further. Also probiotics- I’m presently taking lactobacillus rhamnosus and saccharomyces boulardii, both are histamine lowering.
The vagal nerve gives off chemical signals for stomach acid and any mindfulness/yoga will help transition into the parasympathetic mode (rest, heal, digest) and out of the histamine fuelled sympathetic mode of fight or flight.
Of course if you don’t remove the driving source of histamine overload, then it will never reduce or allow reduction of gut inflammation (the whole GI tract is lined with mast cells that control histamine activation). Worthy considerations are leaky gut (have you removed gluten?) SIBO, Candida, mould (that I’m presently dealing with), etc.
If you address the histamine, you might find all else increases including FT3 and iron levels. Copper can be easily and best gained from protein foods. Like iron if you take too much too quickly your body will end up using less due to safety mechanisms.
Ask if you want protocol for Betaine as it can be a little daunting swallowing gastric acid!
I don’t have long to reply, but I have done a lot of research about diet and histamines. I consider myself a lot wiser these days.
I do take a probiotic and it’s histamine lowering, I have taken digestive enzymes but some didn’t agree with me so I stopped. Suggestions on brand? I do get heart burn most nights no matter what I eat.
I do give myself gaps between food and get heartburn if it’s too long between meals.
I was gluten free but since my husband is celiac and we are in a financial struggle, I’ve a child to feed too. I can’t afford a solely stricken gluten free diet, my husband gets that priority.
I am dairy free except butter which I tolerate.
I have started taking a complex which has copper in and zinc, by wild nutrition, it’s their immune complex. I was dubious about the copper but I’ve supplemented zinc alone for years to help my poor immune system and hair loss. This was through their nutritionists advice.
Culterelles lactobacillus rhamnosus and Now’s saccharomyces boulardii. Also a spore based probiotic for mould detox. Didn’t mention that as not sure if it’s comparable with histamine without research.
I use bacillus coagulans by physis. I alternate with Viridian rhamnosus and a complex by Our remedy probiotic for women, it has all the calming strains in.
What digestive complex would you recommend I’ve tried a few and not felt benefit. One was terranova digestive complex. I’ve still some left.
