Thyroid peroxidase (TPO)

Can I still do a TPO test when I'm on levothyroxine or will this effect the results? Only been on medication for a week. Thanks

I’m now worried about my high end ft4 more and the fact they’ve been high for years and TPO antibodies over 1000.

The thyroid results are normal (TSH 2.87 [ref. 0.38-5,33]; fT4 9.4 [ref. 7.9-14.4]) I have TPO and Thyroglobulin antibodies I don’t know my Thyroidglobin but TPO in 70s so indicated hashimoto. He did treat for Hashimoto Encephalopathy last April with a short course of steroids but no joy.

another thing to add, my TPO antibodies were in range and my TG antibodies were high in the 500’s. The GP didn’t test the TG just the TPO and said I don’t have autoimmune because the TPO is negative! I know that’s a load of rubbish though!! thanks in advance!

My thyroid levels are: - TSH: 1.1 T4: 15.32 T3: 3.92 Anti - TG: 43.1 Anti TPO: 168 My anti TPO was the only thing out of range. I also have a goiter (thyroid cyst) which has been monitored over the years and is benign and as I have "normal" thyroid levels there has been no further treatment.

Has anyone tried the AIP (auto immune protocol diet) or anything else that has helped to lower their TPO antibodies? Thanks in advance

July 2024 they were 90.6 TPO antibodies of 35 or above:You have raised levels of TPO antibodies I don’t have my ferritin levels etc as the test haemolysis so I need to repeat it 😢

Good morning I have seen my GP notes on my TPO results. She has put some normal even though my TPO number was 800 IU/ml ? Should this not be abnormal surely ? A bit confused

Any idea why when taking any dose of iodine along with protocol it send my tpo rising. Trying to figure this for some time now. Lots of people with hashimotos take iodine with no problem.

tsh: 2.00 FT3: 3.1 FT4: 1.3 TPO: 1

The 2nd profile includes adrenal, ovarian,islet & TPo. I've had adrenal issues so wonder if thus could be useful. The other profile has antinuclear, which believe I've had in past, parietal, tpo, mitochondrial, lkm and smooth muscle.

I have to redo the TPO antibody test as I really struggled getting enough blood. Could I have comments please

I was just hoping I could get some opinions on what exactly having TPO antibodies means if not that there's a current thyroid issue.

So I have been monitoring my thyroid now for a couple of years since I did an at home test with medichecks in 2023 and my TSH was 4.24 and my tpo antibodies were positive at 80 something… In the last year and a half I’ve done 3 tests and my TSH has been swinging between 1.6 and 4 and my TPO antibodies

Plus, elevated TPO, but normal TSH, F3 and F4. I was told that I don't yet qualify for any medication and I have no idea how to help myself get better. Severe symptoms of exhaustion, leaky gut, joint pains, low mood....Does anyone have any suggestions for tg antibodies this high?

My daughter has had her t4 and t3 fluctuating her recent bloods showed in range her tpo came back as 370 she was referred to encronolgy however they have decided to not see her and referred her back to GP. She is feeling so unwell. She also has lupus any advice would b appreciated

TPO 20.7 (0-34) August - TSH: 0.9 (0.27-4.2), T3: 4.9 (3.1-6.8), T4: 21.3 (12-22) November - TSH: 0.04 (0.27-4.2), T3: 5.2 (3.1-6.8), T4: 21.7 (12-22) TPO 38(0-34) So he'll say I'm over medicated and reduce levo, which I guess is fair.

Hi all, Was told I had hashimotos a year ago following an ultrasound, I had a private blood test done which showed TPO antibodies were 350 iu/l, I have just had them redone at my doctors and it’s not 278 ku/L so different measurements, is this a normal level? Thank you!
