So I’m taking 175mcg wockhardt Levo 7 tablets a day as Teva made me have many side effects.

I take iron, b12 complex with folate, vit d with vit k, magnesium, zinc, quercetin supplement by viridian. I also take a antihistamine dairy.

Here are my recent bloods do I need t3?

Serum t3 4.9 3.50-6.50

Serum t4 16.8 10.00-18.70

Vit d 53.8

Serum TSH 0.7 0.38-5.50

Serum iron 10 9-30.00

Serum ferritin 2.6 2.00-3.20

Saturation iron binding capac 65 45.00-81.00

Transferrrin saturation Index 15 15.00-50.00

Serum ferritin 76 22.00-322.00

B12 652 211.00-911.00

Serum folate 8.6 3.40-15.80

Any advice or help, I’m so tired I can’t wake in the morning, constant brain fog.

You are a poor converter, yes. Your FT4 is 78.16% through the range, but your FT3 is only 46.67%. The percentages should be closer together than that. But, on the other hand, your iron/ferritin is very low, and that won't help anything. It will certainly make you tired. So, that should be fixed before anything else. What has your doctor said about your iron?

I take ferrous fumerate solution but it upset my stomach on alternate days I take spar tone. I’ve been doing this for month and gone from 9 to 10. Not a great improvement. My gp is classing my levels as normal.

I feel rubbish so tired all the time, my skins very dry and sore. I’m a mum and I’m really struggling.

So introducing t3 with low iron is not recommended? Why? How much t3? I’m nervous with all my previous reaction and my endo you can’t even contact to obtain more.

I didn't say that. So, I can't tell you why. lol

When adding in T3, you follow the rules for taking hormones: start low and increase slowly. For T3 that means starting on a 1/4 tablet, and increasing by 1/4 tablet every two weeks.

I just noticed a lot say your vitamins have to be in a good place to take t3 or see the benefits? Or at least have less adverse reactions.

I don’t know how to increase my iron, I can’t have liver pate like a lot suggest as it’s full of histimines. What ideal range should my t3 be? Are my t4 levels ok?

Many thanks for you help as always.

You need optimal nutrients for a lot of reasons. One of them being that it helps your body to use thyroid hormones efficiently. But, that doesn't mean you can't start T3 if you actually have it, as far as I know.

Can you eat black pudding?

Ranges vary from lab to lab; results vary from person to person. You need to find where you need the FT3 to be for you to feel well. We're all different, but most people do need it in the upper third of the range.

Do you know if it's ok to take anti-histamine daily long term? Thanks

I have no choice as my body reacts to all foods and I have violent allergy attacks if this is not controlled. The natural supplement dose help, but not enough. I can sometimes on a bad day take up to 40ml daily. I never used to be as bad but my condition is worse. If my thyroid condition is not treated optimally this increase my bodies reaction to histamines in my food, these are the words from my immunologist.

I take cetirizine hydrochloride oral solution mid day or when needed. It’s intended to be non drowsy. I’ve been on it a very long time and I’ve no ill effects. The immunologist said no long term side effects. But I’ve no choice it’s either don’t take and become very ill.

Try a night time tea with hops and magnesium to relax at night before bed?

Thanks again, I only use drowsy type to help me sleep, also I get "hay fever more or less all year and non drowsy ones have no effect on this. I have used doxylamine

succinate for years with no ill effects but someone said I shouldn't do this...don't know. Cardiology OP appt on Thurs. so if I remember will ask doc. Not that I expect he will know any better! I am now 80 and generally find drs. just not interested As long as one is standing and breathing I get the impression "What more do you expect?" However think positive maybe I see "A considerate doc." on Thurs.!

foxglove It is not a good idea to take antihistamines long term if they are classified as anti-cholinergics (which the one you take is). They increase your risk of dementia quite dramatically.
