Opinions on Blood Test Results

Hi,

I'm due to see my consultant endocrinologist tomorrow and I just wanted to get some opinions on my blood test results. Still waiting on FT3.

27 y/o female and currently on 100mcg Levothyroxine (auto immune thyroiditis).

Diet is completely free of dairy and gluten but other than that it's balanced, I am relatively active and my BMI is healthy. Have struggled to increase Ferritin for a number of years despite supplementation and increased levels in diet. MRI last year found no signs of Prolactinoma. Range of symptoms from fatigue, temperature regulation and fertility.

Please see results below:

Was this test done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test?

Do you always get same brand of levothyroxine and presumably it’s lactose free

You need 25mcg dose increase in levothyroxine

Ft4 is low in range. When adequately treated Ft4 should be in top third of range ...at least over 18

Ft3 too low. Increase in levothyroxine should improve levels

But still likely to need addition of small dose of T3 alongside levothyroxine after next dose increase in levothyroxine

B12 and folate on low side

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking?

Ferritin obviously too low. increasing iron rich foods. Liver or liver pate once a week, red meat, etc. Look up list of iron rich foods. Daily vitamin C

Ft4 is only 38% through range

Ft3 only 13.3% through range

Helpful calculator for working out percentage through range

chorobytarczycy.eu/kalkulator

Aiming for levothyroxine dose increase to bring Ft4 to at least 70% through range

Ft3 minimum of 60% through range
