Low ferritin
Opinions please on low
ferritin
. Had a
blood
test
last week to rule out CA and my
ferritin
level is 11. Range is 10 - 150. I have several symptoms of iron deficiency and just wondering if it is actually too low. GP states that is still in range. Any thoughts please?

Pregabalin side effect – mental health
It gave me the confidence to ask the GP to re-look at my
ferritin
blood
test
results and the latest RLS treatment guidelines. My iron levels are now up and the RLS considerably eased, although not resolved entirely. As part of my treatment, I was put on Pregabalin.

Ferritin Levels
Hello, Recent
blood
test
shows
Ferritin
at 118 (30 - 650 ug/L). I'm struggling to understand if that's ok as the range appears to have changed. When it was tested in September 2023 it was 112 but the range was 15-200ug/L. Is the range change significant?

Can I get any help on my ‘normal’
ferritin
blood
test
. 24ug/l. Range. 11-307 my husbands, same range is 200ug/L We eat the same meals . Is there any way mine could be improved as it appears to me that it would take more than a diet to fix it .

Iron Level UP!
Just had a
blood
test
: Serum
Ferritin
339ng/ml! TSat% 36% So where now? Do I need to reduce from 339 to 275 or less? How to do that, cut down on Ferrous Sulphate doses or frequency? Long term I’d like to reduce my medication, <1800mg Gabapentin <100mg Tramadol.

Low platelets
Hello and thanks to contributors for the all the past useful information and support. Very much appreciated. My GP has now asked me to give Pramipexole a try as both Gabapentin and Pregabalin seem to have caused an unacceptable reduction in platelets. The negative correlation is fairly conclusive.

A
blood
test
this month showed my
ferritin
levels were 100 (Up from 70 nine months ago). My GP has agreed to prescribe Gabapentin (100mg). I prefer to start at this low dose - partly since, for me, Zopiclone has been a reasonably effective sleep aid as long as not taken daily.

I sort of struck lucky with a new gp who ordered a raft of tests “Sort of” because whereas I couldn’t understand some results I have been booked in for a US urinary tract because neither antibiotics or pessaries helped. She's also requested the
blood
test
for
ferritin
levels so at least she knew about that!! I'm not being ungrateful or negative because I feel very fortunate that I'm being listened to and am getting what I ask for however it's a sad sign of the times that the the medics are so ill-informed
