Anaemia

So as well as Pernicious Anaemia it seems I may have acquired aplastic anaemia according to my bone marrow results. Does anyone else have this?

I am wondering if anyone with PMR and/or GCA (both of which I've got/had) has also been diagnosed with anaemia. I notice that Pernicious Anaemia is another autoimmune condition. My GP called me in as my monthly blood tests had suggested I might have anaemia.

I also take Methotrexate and folic acid but wondering if this contributes to anaemia. how do I raise my iron levels?? My diet is good and I take prescribed iron supplements.

Her red blood count is also low according to her most recent bloods (before chemo 5) - so I’m wondering if some of these symptoms are exacerbated by anaemia? (One of the nurses mentioned this may be a thing right at the start of treatment) has anyone ever found this?

She has booked me for another gastroscopy for her to do biopsies to confirm whether I have pernicious anaemia or not. I am now wondering whether I do have true Pernicious Anaemia. I self inject twice a week and sometimes still have pins and needles and weakness, however has much improved.

I didn't even know about this disease until I was admitted to hospital with B12 deficiency/anaemia and suggested that it was the cause for my jaundice.(I have been iron deficient on and off since 14, admitted to hospital twice, never knew that there was anaemia without blood loss).

And Pernicious Anaemia is not my focus.)

I have all the symptoms of anaemia and although my red blood cells have dropped whilst taking hydroxycarbomide my haematologist saysthey don’t go by them only by haemoglobin and if I don’t feel well to see my gp. RBC currently 3.6 ( range 3.8-5.8) haemoglobin 132 )range 115-160).

After a lot of tests I’ve learnt that gluten is the cause of my iron deficiency anaemia. A month of iron tablets has raised my iron levels back to normal however my TIBC is still high, my transferrin saturation index is low (has got lower) and my serum folate levels are borderline.

The presence of anti intrinsic factor antibodies together with a low vitamin B12 level is diagnostic of pernicious anaemia Does this make sense to anyone and could you please explain it to me as they said I had pernicious anaemia but didn't fully explain the results. Thanks in advance

morning, I’ve just been diagnosed with iron deficiency anaemia and am on day 8 of iron tablets. Yesterday diarrhoea started. I’m interested in people experiences in how long this lasted.

(I have low B12 and low vit D and am awaiting results for ceoliac and pernicious anaemia so I'm wondering if it could be related to absorption?) Thanks
