What do you all think of these test results please? I am not feeling as good as I did when I first went on to T3+T4 (but still heaps better than without T3) The endo wants me to keep reducing down dosage of T3 because of risks.

but I am terrified of going back to the way I was. Want to try to help myself without rocking the boat with the endo. I am taking Holland and Barrett Vitamin D tablets and endo just advised to keep taking them. I am also taking vit B 100 time release and magnesium tablets daily.

Thanks in anticipation.xxx

Your ferritin is way too low! This might be why you have needed to reduce your T3. If your ferritin is too low your body doesn't use T3 as well as it should so it pools in your blood. If you can get your ferritin level up to 70-90 you should notice an improvement. Your free T3 might actually go down and your TSH up as the T3 starts getting into your cells much better. You may find then you are able to increase back up to 40mcg T3.

A ferritin of 25 is right at the bottom of the range and is probably contributing to a lot of your symptoms as well as making it more difficult to get the T3 into your cells to be used. You would probably benefit from taking an iron supplement with vitamin C and a B vitamin complex. You may also want to take a separate B12 supplement as many of us are deficient in this vitamin.

I hope that helps to point you in the right direction

Many thanks for this Carolyn - I will give it a try. I did ask the endo re low iron and she said not to take iron as it causes more probs than it solves- however I didn't feel that was right. Why do the test at all if that is the case - my result couldn't be much lower. Also I thought my bit D was low but again she said it was ok and that is with taking a supplement.
