My antibodies are heading in the right direction I am taking Thorne B complex and 5000iu Vit D
It seems my T3 levels are dropping I took the test as I have had slight symptoms again constipation, aches cold feet hot flushes and a resting heart rate of below 60. I am 100% gluten free.
I currently take 150 levo actavis brand but I have some T3 and some Thyrogold I am thinking that adding a small amount of T3 may be helpful and wondered how I should dose myself? the T3 I have is in 25mcg and the thyrogold I believe contain 12.5mcg T3 and 50mcg T4 any advise would be greatly appreciated?

You can get a pill cutter and split the tablets fairly easily.
25mcg T3 and 1 gr Thyrogold are around 100mcg of levothyroxine, so I would suggest, and I am not medically qualified . you should add a 1/4 of whichever one you want and take note of how you are feeling/improving and you can increase by 1/4 tablet every two weeks. If either pulse or temp goes too high, drop back to previous dose.
Certainly worth a go as Ft4 at top of range and 150 is a usual decent amount of T4.
I take 125 T4 and 3mcg T3. I use a SMALL dose of T3 and this is much more effective for me than bigger doses.
So you may not be the same, but always start low and see how you get on. You can then increase slowly and hopefully hit a sweet spot.
I use a stanley blade to cut my 25mcg tablets into 1/8th sizes. It is easy to do, just hold with both hands and press down in the middle of each piece.
Try a piece in the morning and monitor any changes. Maybe do it for 3 days and if no difference, try another 3mcg piece in the afternoon.
Over a few weeks you may get up to a higher amount. I have no idea what will suit you, so it has to be a case of trial and error.
Many people drop the T4 a little when trying T3, but i find this is wrong. Hold the T4 and use a little T3. This way you won't get conflicting things happening, you will be just making one change at a time.
It's great to hear from you . I agree with marsaday . I would hold on to the T4 Levothyroxine and just add a tiny dose of NDT or T3 . That's what I do too . I'm not the best converter and that tiny bit really makes a difference . I would also add in nutrients that help our thyroid meds work better for us . Selenium vitamin "D" B-12/folate Iron if you test low .
I hear your concern . You might want to reduce a bit of your T4 if it bothers you and you have issues with it . And then add a tiny bit of T3 . A small amount of T3 helps to convert more T4 to T3 . I'm not a good converter and the tiny amount of T3 is helping with my conversions . My FT4 was higher and my FT3 was low . I'm running labs in a few days will see the out come . I feel much better and my palpitations have stopped THANK G-D . My Endo goes by how the patient feels rather than lab results . Lab results are serum and that fluctuates . Symptoms are cellular results and they are much more telling . What's the point if the labs come back perfect but the patient still has many symptoms and feels awful ?
Thanks again I've taken 100mcg levo and 1/4 cap of thyrogold this morning (I couldn't split the T3 tabs into 1/8 :-/) I will keep a close eye on myself over the next few weeks don't know if I'm imagining it but I feel clearer headed today but slightly anxious?
I know if I feel anxious or feisty or feel like answering back to people I know that my T3 is too high for me . That's one of my signs of too much T3 . And I'm right . When I lower the T3 I feel more comfortable with myself and I feel calmer . I need only 3mcg T3 anything above is too much .Keep an eye on how you react to people around you . It's very telling .
Thank you I think the anxiety is the fear of the unknown in taking the T3 lol my resting heart rate is still only 59 and I will keep a close eye on myself both physically and emotionally
I keep an eye on my emotions and monitor my Blood pressure and pulse . They don't serve you wrong . My b/t I learned that for some reason does not work for me . Learn to trust your GUT instincts . If it doesn't feel right then it's not .
