An easier run, but the knees aren’t happy
I am pleased to report that today’s run went a lot better than the last. I took two days rest, and chose a flat path beside a river for this one, cutting the hills out of the equation. Breathing wise, all was well for the 5k. A little too well - I found myself speeding up, and at about 4.8km realised

Hi all. I've been taking opioid medication for over 10 years for endometriosis/adenomyosis. I'm now finally on the waiting list for a total hysterectomy which should get rid of the bulk of my pain - and therefore i will stop the pain medication. However, I've now to have a meeting with a chronic pain

Success (I hope) with Gabapentin
I have had RLS for more years than I can remember. For years I took mirapexin till I augmented. I tried Pregabalin but I felt dizzy all the time and I put on a lot of weight quickly. I started tramadol and then alternated between that and mirapexin ( yes I went back on it). I coped like this for a long

PN guy
had pudendal neuralgia for 5 years . It went away but everything I tried was not helping. Best help was tramadol by far. Those tricyclics were awful and did nothing. Caused irregular heart beat . Cymbalta felt like I was nuts. All the pt and injections did nothing including rf blocks. Now after 7 years

peripheral neuropathy
I have had peripheral neuropathy in my lower limbs for about 3 years now. According to my cardiologist it is a side effect of taking Amiodorone. I took this for AF. I now have permanent Af because I was not able to get treatment during pandemic. Only 30% chance of success with ablation since I have

Ropinerol withdrawal.... what now?
So after 15 years I'm off Requip. I'm now 4 days in with zero meds for RLS. A few contradictions of how long it takes to fully leave your system, however, I was hoping that my RLS would magically disappear along with my meds. Unfortunately, thats not been the case. Cannabis didn't help, it just left

Oxycodone - the way forward or a dead end?
I have only posted here briefly once but I have been following this great forum for some time. My story is very familiar. Have had RLS for 14 years, was prescribed all the available RLS medication: Ropinirole, Pramipexole (both miraculous at the beginning) Neupro patch ( never tolerated it), Gabapentin

Low dose Naltrexone or Suboxone. I'm seeing my doctor this week. Which one is best
After many years of RLS and coping quite well. First the dreaded mirapexin and then tramadol nothing is working at the moment. I was on 0.09 mg mirapexin. Now I'm on 50mg tram. Even if I take 100mgs it's not working so I'm obviously augmenting. Even Kratom isn't helping. I made an appointment with my

Urgently seeking pain management tips
Hi everyone! I was so glad to see 2023 come to an end, but unfortunately, my transition into the new year has not been much better. I think I’ll make a couple of separate posts, so this does not become convoluted, but my most immediate need is finding some resolution for the increasing pain I am

Fentanyl
Happy New Year! I have been suffering with fractured vertebrae for over a year now. I’ve been on Tramadol, ocycodine, steroid shots and morphine. None of them relieve the pain. I had six steroid shots today, pain level to 3. Best it’s ever been. Now the doctor wants to put me on fentanyl patches.

The problem with Buprenorphine, BTBD9 and serotonin syndrome
This is for those of you who are really struggling with the remedies for RLS. Apologies for not referencing all my research but I’ve been completely wiped out for weeks now. However I wanted to share some insights I’ve had recently and hope it inspires thoughts and research. Adenosine is a chemical

What do you think?
I am/was/ a physically fit 55 yr old man and in late October I had 3 weeks in Spain. The weather was 26-30C and I was in the sea everyday at 7.30am or running or cycling. A week later and I am back in dear old Blighty 14C, with the most painful left shoulder and arm. (I have pins in this from a cycling

Starting to get scared
Hi everyone I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, arthritis, hypermobility and raynaulds in 2016. I'm taking zoomorph 10mg slow release twice a day and gabapentin 300mg 4 times a day for fibro. I also take vencalm XL as I am bi polar (diagnosed 1997). Over the last 4 months I've had a noticeable decline
