High blood pressure medication and fibro
Hi all hope everyone is OK today. The gp has decided I need blood pressure tablets , I have been on them 2 weeks and feel awful. I had a cold but that's gone, this is like a really really bad flare up. I didn't feel ill with hbp and I never go near the gp. The consultant had requested 6monthly blood

What it is like to get an AV fistula, My journey
I am writing this for those who are heading to dialysis and want to know what it is like. As RonZone did with PD, I am talking about home hemodialysis, HHD. My lab numbers are at the point to "get-er done." The first step: I was scheduled for an AV fistula; first-stage left brachiobasilic fistula

Warfarin not raising inr....why?
I've been taking warfarin for 4 weeks trying to get to inr level between 2-3. Even though I'm taking higher dose 8mg my INR is staying at 1.3. I thought by 4 weeks it would have gone up on that dose. It's a pain because I got to have bloods taken every 3 days to see if it goes up. I'm not taking any

Stopping work
Hi I posted on here a few days ago after bilateral subdural hematoma and burr hole surgery in Feb 2022. I had tried to go back to work in retail and was doing OK I thought. Part time but I have realised I can't do it. No advice or any information when I left hospital. Tried to claim PIP but unsuccessful

just diagnosed
Hi, I’m a 69 yr old retired nurse. For the past nine years I have been experiencing all the common symptoms of PV and have had three embolitic events, a DVT, Pulmonary embolism and a cerebral venous thrombosis. I was treated for other things and no specific blood tests were ever done. Things got so bad

Diverticulitis, hemerrhoids (?), fissure (?), bleeding
Hello. After a pretty unusual bout of diverticulitis diagnosed by a CT scan, I saw my GI doc and he wants to do another colonoscopy. This is my 4th bout in 6 years - not very bothered by it - but the last one, well, I could not get the stool out, and then started pooping orangy slime. After that I went

Twisted ankle and foot
HiDoes anyone know if injuring your foot and ankle by twisting it takes longer to heal when you have lupus? On the 24th I slipped on the narrow step trying to get into my sister's car. My left foot slipped off the step, 1st going over on my ankle and then twisted making a horrible snapping noise. My

UK - Liver Resection
I'm having my liver resection on Friday 18th August to remove HCC and I'm just falling apart. I'm so scared and nervous. I feel sick, I'm bloated (from stress), I feel I have no desire to eat properly so I'm eating the wrong foods. I'm getting heart burn too. I'm convinced it's all anxiety related to

Induced coma
Hello, I was an induced coma for 6 weeks from early may, I'm out of hospital and home now. I'm finding my memory is terrible. I have no memory from about a month before my admission and now I keep forgetting little things and lots of them, like remembering to look at my diary where I have written appointments

Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD)
Morning all, Four years ago I had PAD in my right leg. As the surgeon found crystalline deposits when attempting to fit a stent it was not possible to treat it that way and I had a bypass operation instead. Since then I have not felt a single pain in that leg But now I am having the same problem in

timing between Lupron injections
After 17 months on firmagon injections, I switched to the 84 day lupron injection on June 15. How far can the 84 days be safely extended? I am currently scheduled for another injection on September 14, which is 91 days. I hope that is ok, as our scheduling was extended because of vacation conflicts

Disimpacted 9 year old and still soiling
my 9 year old has been suffering with chronic constipation for 6 years, we are all at our wits end. It is hugely affecting my, but more importantly her, mental health. At the beginning of July we had a hospital stay for disimpaction via a NG tube. This was effective. Doctor prescribed 5 ml of sodium

Tired
Hello I have Complex PTSD, depression and serious anxiety problems. I am tired of dealing with all of this everyday. I would never inflict harm on myself or others though. I joined this group so I could maybe have people to talk to........if I can help others, that would be great too!

Feeling Shame...
My PTSD symptoms include an overwhelming shame. It can be overwhelming at times. Part of it is shame for the things that happened to me, and part of it is shame for the things that I truly did. I know we "sufferers" can manifest things differently, and for me my shame is overwhelming at times. How
