thin eye tissue
just had my second vitrectomy in 6 months. during the op I could hear the surgeon say the retina was so thin a few times. I’ve just read on the eye drops that steroids cause thinning of eye tissue. is there anything I can do/eat to strengthen the retina? Many Thanks

Row31 and YWA focussing on Core
I am doing a daily January rowing challenge and on my plan today was an off the rower core-focussed circuit workout. This happened to coincide with the Day 6 session of YWA Yoga with Adriene, and both the Row31 and the YWA focussed on similar exercises. However, YWA was a gentle relaxing but still

Low dose steroids for miscarriages…?
Hey everyone - wishing you all a Hopeful New Year! ✨🤞❤️ I was just wondering if anyone had any advice/experience of low-dose steroids, without any tests to suggest they need them? Our fertility history: 1) Natural (accidental) conception 2007 - loss due to cervical issues 2) Natural conception

Bad pain day - tips
Hello all!I'm hoping for some wisdom from the NRAS hive mind on what to do for very bad pain days. I had a stomach bug over Christmas, missed a dose of methotrexate, and now I have a killer RA flare. I've been resting, gentle movement, painkillers, hot baths etc and am hoping it will resolve. If it lasts

OsteoArthritis v RA
Having had RA diagnosed some 4 years now the majority of my pain is focused on my left knee which I injured in 2017. Recent flaring and RA activity has been largely rooted in that knee and have had three steroid injections since Christmas. The most latest one was in response to searing pain in the knee

Still on Pred after 11 yrs
I have been treated with steroids for 11 yrs for PMR 20 mgs to start. since then I have gone up and down from 7 mgs to 2 . 5 mgs several time. Always failing to get off them because of the return of severe fatigue, pain, stiffness , weakness in muscles , so I end up going up again , but ESR & CRP

necrosis due to radiation
does anyone have experience with necrosis in the brain due to extensive radiation at the tumor sites? I was fine for a little over a year until the necrosis developed and then I lost my peripheral vision on the right side. The treatment for this necrosis is to go on steroids to help reduce the inflammation

Hi there, I’m a 49 year old lifelong asthmatic. Very well controlled with Montelulast and Singulair 200. Never use ventolin. BUT when I get a cold, cough, Covid it sets me in a downward spiral. This is where I am at the moment. Ventolin is used daily. Had a cold toward end of Nov which went to my chest

Scalp SLE diagnosed April 2021, conflicting/contradictory medications - any advice?
Hi I've had a biopsy which confirmed SLE for scalp last year in France (where I live).Having suffered health issues due to serious overmedication here before, I was reluctant to start on 400mg of Plaquenil. Got a 2nd opinion in Spain in May2021, who prescribed Diprosone (topical steroid cream) which

From 4 mg of Prednisone to 240mg of Solumedrol.. in 30 hours....
I'm in the hospital contemplating the curses and blessings of prednisone and the whole family of steroids. I have chronic asthma and haven't had a severe asthma attack for 13 years. Who knows maybe all my prednisone was protecting me. I've been tapering slowly and last Wednesday had a routine visit and

Cough 14 weeks and sore throat
Hi, I had a cough for about 14 weeks. Saw a doctor about 4 weeks ago, gave me antibiotics, steroids and an inhaler. Chest sounded clear. I was sent for a chest xray, which is clear. However I developed a feeling of tightness and sore throat and pressure and sought pain in my ears for about three weeks

The joy of the unclear diagnosis 😂
This is a verrrry long post!! If anyone actually reads to the end you have my full respect I’m a returning member to the forum. I used to be active when I was being treated for severe asthma. I used to routinely end up in hospital for basic chest infections, and struggled with chest aching and tightness
