GP just called me back. Advised carry on with same home remedies ( fluids, rest, elevated sleeping etc) unless cough becones very productive and temperature increases then will consider me going in to surgery to listen to my chest. Many reports of the same with this she said. Felt no need to increase my steroids at moment. Thanks for all your responses.

Don’t ignore the cough. My husband developed blood clots some time after his bout with the Delta Covid. Read this from the American Heart Association on a study in England.

I have had a quick scan so far but does this mean a cough like mine can possibly be the sign of blood clot? That cheered me up! 🤔

So sorry but it’s something to keep in mind if your cough persists. My husband ignored the signs since last spring and had no pain but being out of breath and thinking it was his age and conditioning.

Our friends just told us about their 43 year old daughter having blood clots in her lungs months after Covid.

The fallout from Covid is still under investigation.

Insist on a CT scan if you don’t improve at any time.

Try not to worry but just be informed.

I passed on the article to my husbands PA.

Thank you. Better to be informed!

Not really very satisfactory is it? I feel like we don’t have GPs anymore. Our diseases make us vulnerable patients. I sincerely hope it’s nothing.

healthunlocked.com/pmrgcauk... Should I worry about this reply from singingloud? See above.

To be honest, I would want the GP to examine me, not necessarily or specifically because of the potential for blood clots, just to be thorough. Perhaps you could try ringing 111?

I don't know if you saw my post about Strep in the last day.You might get better advice for self care treatments and a check up by calling your pharmacy.

I got a proper check up before they did my Strep test , and much better advice than via the GP for an infection. If they see how bad you are they may be able to give you some sort of prescription on the spot , or contact the GP to request that they definitely see you.

It might be worth a try .

Take care , and try looking up the COVID breathing exercises on YouTube and doing them every few hours , they made a big difference to my husband's breathing and speed of recovery.

what has worked for me is an elixir made of putting sliced ginger. Lemon and honey in a pot and boil it. As it boils breathe the vapor. Then pour it into cup with your favorite tea. Green echinacea etc and slowly sip. It was the only thing which resolved horrible coughs or less. Then continue to add water to pot and add ginger lemon etc and use it regularly until cough disappears.
