Continuous never ending onslaught - still trying to be happy happy positive but 🤷‍♀️
Been sick this time for 9 months, 2cardioversions, 3rd ablation 5wks ago. Had a few complications and still have the asthma I left hospital with. Until yesterday I’d been NSR but the asthma is not letting up. The inhalers, steroids etc have put the heart rate up to continuous 100-117 which is now exhausting

Chest infection and Pred
I had covid with a bad dry cough and heavy cold at the end of November and made a good recovery. Didn't effect my pmr. On 3mg. On 28th December, probably due to doing far too much over Christmas, I started a chest infection from hell. Heavy chesty phlemy cough but bringing up clear sputum

a few days on steroids?
Hello all… I can’t get hold of the rheumatology team and am getting fed up of a mid range RA flare… feet and ankles are very sore to walk on and the back of my hand is fluid filled. I can off MTX for 18 days at the end of November as caught Covid. I was thinking of taking prednisone 5ml daily for three

Unwelcome Relapse
PMR. As you will know from one of my recent posts I had managed to get down to 4 and a half mg after more than 3 years on Steroids starting at 15 mg. I stayed at that level for 3 months, feeling OK and thinking that it might be time to drop down to 4mg. But then almost overnight I began to feel some

I’ve been on steroids for over a year .. just new to mtx 2 months .. I’m getting the worst night sweats ever literally soaking it’s horrible and disrupting my sleep massively… I’m so tired all the time and get anxious about going to bed as I now what’s going to happen. Has anyone else suffered from

Pain relief for R.A - alternatives to what I'm using...
Hi there, I've had R.A since last September. I've been on MTX for the last 5 months and it hasn't worked, so I'm waiting to start on Adalimumab which I'm led to believe can take up to 12 weeks to become effective. So far I've had 3 steroid injections, along a 10 week course of Prednisolone to help

Newly diagnosed
Hello everyone My symptoms became noticeable about 2 months ago (although I think they had been around in a mild form for much longer but I passed them off as muscle strain/getting older) Following many blood tests to rule out other conditions the GP thinks I have PMR. I very reluctantly started on 15mg

Steroids and testing
I'm due for the next blood tests, but I'm on a course of steroids for wrist pain. They're due to finish in a week so will wait until then at least, but wondered if I should give them even longer to get out of my system?

Has anyone any information about pseudo dementia as a result of GCA. Could my mum’s rapid onset dementia symptoms be related to her GCA?
Has anyone experienced mental health problems due to GCA and can higher doses of steroids help?

Full removal of thyroid and parathyroid anxiety levels very high
hello, I hope someone can help. in August 2022, I had my total thyroid and total parathyroid removed, they were both so enlarged that they were suffocating me, this was only discovered when the operation was performed, though I had been suffering serious breathing problems for the preceding year and

Concerned. Is this just bad luck??
Hi everyoneJust interested in opinions as I guess I'm feeling a little fed up. At the end of October I caught a nasty strep throat infection. Took 20 days of antibiotics to clear it( they had to change the antibiotic half way through) . Then at the beginning of December I had that terrible virus which

Antihistamines for Post Covid Symptoms?
Hi, a few weeks ago I tested positive for Covid… It caused an asthma flare but my Fostair and Ventolin along with a course of Dexomethasone steroids seemed to have kept it manageable… Although the actual illness passed very quickly (temp, awful throat, horrible barking coughing fits) I have been left

Old Knee Injury
5 years ago I sprained my knee and from then on have had swelling and pain….it seemed to trigger my RA. At that time after about 9 months I had an mri which showed a bit of damage and a maniacal tear. The advice then was rest, nsaids etc and things will improve. Then time passes and you get used

OTD BFN with Euploid - any advice?
hi all Hope you’re all finding hope on your journeys. I’ve tested negative this morning. I had a euploid transferred on a FET. I’ve had ERA, used antibiotics, steroids, Clexane blood thinners, I also did a progesterone test on transfer which revealed 39 result (target was 50) so I doubled my progesterone

Rheumatoid Arthiritis Medication decision help
Hi thank you for letting me join your group and hello everyone. I’m looking for help with a decision on my medication. I had been on methotrexate for a number of years but unfortunately due to infections, I ended up more off it than on it, often having to make the decision myself on whether to take it
