PMR symptoms and Steroid sensitivity and withdrawal
I updated my profile a couple of weeks ago as I am feeling that the PMR recovery plan is not working. I had about 10 days at the beginning of my 15 mg start on prednisolone of feeling that the pain was controlled. After that I experienced a low level of the previous discomfort. I was not advised about

Just a quick update, Endo appointment šæ
went to Royal Liverpool Endo dept , was hoping to see the consultant who is on TUK Uk list. Unfortunately this did not happen, the person I saw was less than helpful, see I can be tactful, sometimes. Introduced herself as diabetes consultant and she lived up to that name. The first thing she said

Had pulse field ablation April 15.
I'm 82. retired US nurse-anesthetist. I had the ablation for paroxysmal Afib April 15 ,It wasn't a difficult experience considering I am a high-risk anesthesia patient due to scoliotic restrictive lung disease and asthma. It only took about 1,1/2 hrs. (I have all the records on my patient portal.)

Medication prescribed alongside prednisolone
Hi, hope everyone is well. I have been prescribed steroids for my most recent transfer. Fortunately I was lucky enough to get a positive this morning on test day. I was prescribed lansoprazole a PPI to protect stomach whilst taking the steroids. My husband has gone to collect top up meds to cover me

methotrexate
I have been on prednisolone since last August for GCA/PMR and am getting down to lower levels (10mg). Rheumy wants to add methotrexate as need to get off steroids due to osteoporosis. I read all the leaflet last night and scared myself to death! Has anyone got experience to share of this drug particularly

Information
Hi all. I have had some bad attacks over the last several months when Iām in a crowded place and itās noisy, so much so that Iāve had to leave the building. I think I know what causes it having completed a first aid course in 1976 but just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. Itās like a panic

Hand inflamation following PMR
Hi there, I suffered bad PMR for nearly three years, strating on 30mg of pred. Tapering down until about six weeks ago... maybe too fast towards the end, the GP put me on Naproxin. Aches and pains were fairly bad but a trigger finger has led to inflammation and paralysis to both hands. No one seems to

Hello all - 71 years old and hoping to run!
Hello all I did Couch to 5k 5 when I was in my mid-60s and loved it. I got to 5k easily and ran 2-3 times a week for about 2 years and lost a stone of weight naturally without dieting. Now at 71, I've got various health problems and have put on a stone plus from taking steroids daily for 18 months.

IVF transfer protolols (adenomyosis / endometriosis)
Hey there fellow warriors. I am agonising over IVF transfer protocols. After a year of batch stimming I am very fortunate to have 3 euploid blastocysts on ice ready to transfer. I have had five failed transfers (x2 miscarriages, 3 BFNs) and feel like I have tried everything already in terms of protocols

Hand/foot pain reduced movement.
Good morning, I'm suffering from severe hand and feet pain. Iām due to have an ultrasound of my hands in 2 weeks so my consultant doesnāt want me to have a course of steroids (the only thing that works for me to relieve pain) Has anyone got any suggestions to improve hand movement/ease pain in the interim

Iām backš. Used to be Dtech.
Been a while since I was last on here. I didnāt go on a lot unless I could help with anything. So jock update. Iām now happily retired. Dog walking and playing golf. Going on occasional holidays. Had a week in Seville to celebrate my 70th birthday. January I had a bad hip. Thought it was just a strain

PMR relapse?
I would be grateful for some advice! I was diagnosed with PMR end of 2022. I was put on 15 mg Prednisolone and started tapering around 2 months in. I stopped Pred December 23! Around 10 weeks ago started waking in early hours in bad pain chiefly in shoulders and hips but also shooting pains in limbs

Doctors advice really upsetting, any support and advice would be appreciated
Due to my asthma, I have been on multiple courses of steroids, leading to a lot of weight gain and water retention (I have gone from size 8-10 to a size 16). I was trying my best to embrace my body as it has gone through an insane amount of medical trauma the past few years, as well as transitioning

Tapering Steroids
Hi I've been in touch with the hospital about starting to taper the oral steroids I've been taking for the last few months and they have basically left it to me! I've been managing on 15mg per day and tried to cut down last week to 10mg but the pain was too much, I've injected again with Sarilumab
