Losing weight to reduce inflammation?
Hi all I've got a bit fat recently, and have been reading with interest that this can apparently make RA symptoms worse*. Has anyone experienced any joy with weight loss alleviating symptoms? The triple therapy (methotrexate + hydroxychloroquine + sulfasalazine) I've been on for 6 months or so seems

Hair?
For the last three days every time I get up I feel dizzy. Pmr stable, arthritis behaving itself - hair in an absolute mess - so I thought I'd put curlers in (for the first time in years) just to see if I feel better. Took a photo of myself to remind me. Can you understand that nearly everyone I meet

Does anyone know what corrective arthritis is?
Hi all hope everyone is well and keeping safe. I saw my clinic nurse 2 weeks and received the outcome letter yesterday. It stated that I have some corrective arthritis and a flare up of tendonitis. I have never heard of this so a little confused. He also suggested I start hydrochloroquine as the Idadcio

New breakthrough in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
People with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) could soon benefit from a new drug treatment that not only suppresses inflammation but also significantly reduces patient reported pain scores. Otilimab is a monoclonal antibody, biologic drug, which targets and suppresses the inflammatory cytokine GM-CSF. In a

Severe deep knee pain both knees??? Cause
3.5 years of PMR, on 3.5 for a year now. For no apparent reason sudden onset of deep severe ache in both knees, worse when not moving, keeping me awake at night. My blood test was up to 10 which is unusual for me (erp..). It feels different from my PMR pain??, no history of injury..any idea??? Thanks

An update on inflammatory arthritis diagnosis
I finally had a face to face appointment with the rheumatologist a few days ago and he has diagnosed psoriatic arthritis based on me saying I have psoriasis in my scalp. The psoriasis had cleared I assume because I was on methotrexate. I have no symptoms in my hands or feet but fit in with the average

Pneumonia
I was rushed into hospital on Saturday morning with pneumonia (though my bra was causing the pain) but the pain still got worse I didn't think you could get Pneumonia after having the injection, anyway whilst they were doing the tests they think I've got scaring on the lungs and sent me for a CT scan

Arthritis surgery
I am about to have surgery for my arthritic foot & have been told that I must stop my medication: methotrexate & salfasalozine, for 2 weeks prior to surgery. I guessing other people have done this? What can I expect pain-wise & what have others done to relieve this?

Hi Guys and Gals. Just wondering if anyone on here has been diagnosd with Axial Spondyloarthritis. From 2009 - 2013 I had major spine surgery, in 2013 (my last surgery) I developed septicaemia which triggered my RD. 7 years on my back gives me unbelievable pain still and my consultant has said that

MRI results
I've been having PMR symptoms since February, and finally just had x-rays and MRI (no contrast) done, to see if anything showed up - both came back clear. I understand that rules out osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, but would my clear MRI rule out PMR as well? My rheumatologist didn't mention

Baracinitib (Jak) or abatacept for lupus/rheumatoid arthritis?
Hi! Has anyone used the one of the above to treat their lupus/rheumatoid arthritis? What were your side effects if you had any? Would you recommend it? Do you know the possible long-term issues it may cause? Or if you have any information on these drugs please let me know! Thanks!

Is this hereditary?
I have GCA with
Takayasu
Arteritis
and my children have been asking whether it may be hereditary. Does anyone know whether any research has been undertaken to find out if it is and, if so, is it more likely to affect females or males?
