An update on inflammatory arthritis diagnosis

I finally had a face to face appointment with the rheumatologist a few days ago and he has diagnosed psoriatic arthritis based on me saying I have psoriasis in my scalp. The psoriasis had cleared I assume because I was on methotrexate. I have no symptoms in my hands or feet but fit in with the average age of getting it( only just) After having 8 weeks of increased side effects from the methotrexate I have been started on leflunomide, of which I have had 1 tablet and come out in a rash and the rash which was nearly gone from the methotrexate has flared even more than it was originally. So phone consult to GP and on a few days of anti histamine tablets and cream and then have another go and begin the merry-go-round process of battling on or finding another drug to help my symptoms. I would like to thank everyone for their advice and will find a forum for psoriatic arthritis to hopefully help me on my journey battling the minefield of drugs, symptoms and what is to come.

Thanks for the link! I will check out that link as well, since I also am diagnosed with PsA, though it presently has receded into the background while the PMR symptoms are front and center.

I have same diagnosis.. our cases sound similar. Ive been on methotrexate almost 3 months and am finding I just can’t tolerate it. Getting approval for biologic ( Enbrel). Hope that works. It’s not fun is it?
