Hello good people! Hope everyone is ok :) my Ra has caused bursitis in my hips/lower back and my nurse was great and gave me a steroid injection which has helped but Im slightly concerned that it'll reoccur. Has anyone had any experiences? Thanks very much in advance :) enjoy the weekend x

I had trochanteric bursitis after a fall. I had steroid injections into my hip and then physio and the orthopaedic surgeon said it shouldn't recur. Clemmie

Yes thanks, my hip is great now. Hope you soon get better. Clemmie

I had bursitis on the pelvic bone just above my hip. I had a steroid injection which didn't seem to work, so had to go for another. Eventually it went. I've had steroid injection in my shoulder, knee, pelvic bone, and the joints in the palm of my hand (ouch, that one hurt). Good Luck. x

Thank you! I'm sorry you had to have so many injections, they do hurt. The palm of the hand must really hurt too, ouch indeed! Hope things are more settled now. Take care x

Forgot the one in my ankle. The one for the palm of my hand was administered right between the second finger and middle finger, and went right into the joint in the middle. That was the only one that hurt really. :-)

Sorry to hear you're having problems too, it's so annoying isn't it. Thank you for your honesty though, much appreciated. Hope your hips get better and you don't have to many flare ups with the bursitis too. Take care x

You take care too. Best advice I can give is rest for aslong as possible after the injection. I also read somewhere that heat on it won't help but make it worse. Hope yours doesn't reoccur x

I have bursitis in my wrist. Had a steroid injection and had a reaction to it/wasn't injected properly and it completely put me off. For me, the bursitis was less of an issue than the side effect of the injection. However, I hear of people who regard them as miracles but they do wear off and then you need more of them sometimes

Hello, thanks for letting me know about your experiences, it's really helpful. Sorry to hear the injections weren't great for you though, I hope they managed to sort something else out to help. Take care x
