steroid induced cateract
A poster asked on here a while back if steroids/ injections caused cataracts. I had about 5 steroid injections, then developed a cataract. My eye doc told me I had a steroid induced cataract. My Rheumatology doc told me that was rubbish. Today I have again been offered steroid injection for pain etc.

Knees Again
I have written about my swollen knees before and they have been a bit better since having a steroid injection. I also hoped starting Benepali injections would help. I have done 12 injections so far and last week my knees started getting worse again. I saw my rheumatologist yesterday and he said to keep

Prednisone injection not giving much relief.
Hi all. I had my steroid injection 2 weeks ago, but it has given minimal pain relief. Can anyone advise if there is anything else available for pain relief, do i need to contact the rheumatology team? I am already taking naproxen and co codamol. Thank you Penny

T3 supplement for hypothyroidism (on Thyroxine)
I've been on Levothyroxine since diagnosis in 1993, and about a year or so after birth of my second child in 1985 I started to gain a lot of weight, was always tired (not anaemic) my hair started to thin badly but initial investigations did not show anything apparently. I moved house and had to change

My Rheumatologist phoned last night.
I was surprised to receive a call at 7.20 last night from my consultant, in fact I had dropped off to sleep after a few hectic days with friends over from Portugal. I last saw her in July and because I was changing from Azathioprine to methotrexate I had to have an X-ray, I had already had a blood test

Constant pain
Hello. Six years ago I became very ill. All doctors kept saying I had a bladder infection but I didn't feel that I did. Every scan, examination showed nothing. I went on antibiotics for six months and slowly got better. I bled from my back passage at the start and upon an internal scan 3 years later

Downward Spiral
Diagnosed with PMR 8 years ago and stabilised with Prednisolone what joy!. With the passage of time and constant flares I was subsequently diagnosed with osteoarthritis and then rheumatoid arthritis if that is not enough I have osteoporosis and AF. The pain I am experiencing is getting progressively

Has anybody bought themselves an emergency steroid injection?
I need to have a wisdom tooth out soon and am worried about the whole adrenal suppression issue. I am self medicating with 20mg hydrocortisone, for low adrenal function, and am aware that, after 5 years of doing this, I probably now have adrenal suppression (ie. my adrenals may not be able to do much

Does anyone take calcium?
Morning peeps🙂 I was wondering whether any of you take calcium or something similar to strengthen your bones? I've had quite a lot of prednisolone and steroid injections and I'm concerned about the negative effect it might be having.

Acceptance and pain
Hi, I'm new here... I was diagnosed with lupus in March after almost 8 months of prodding and poking and test after test. I really struggled with coming to terms with the diagnosis, as it seemed on top a pretty traumatic childhood I then had to deal with this on my own. My main symptoms are really
