Painkillers before rheumy appointment
Hope you're all as well as you can be and thank you for keeping this group going. The help, on lots of levels, and information from fellow sufferers is second to none. I was wondering how you feel about taking painkillers before seeing the rheumatologist. I'm on 15mg methotrexate (started on 10mg) and

Advice re treatment
Hi all, new here after being diagnosed with sero neg RA in April - this was after 2years of being told I have fibromyalgia. My joint pain is in my right wrist only which apparently is very unusual. First consultant suggested I go straight onto Methotrexate which seemed like a gigant lead as I wasn’t

Cortisol testing following steroid injection
I've been taking Erfa for 6 weeks and my Endocrinologist has requested a 9am cortisol test along with thyroid and vitamins. Since then I've had a steroid injection for arthritis and wonder if this will skew the results? Any advice please?

Steroid injection and face flush (wolf face🙄)
I had a shoulder steroid injection on Wednesday and later that day noticed a lupus flush/not quite ‘rash’ across my face and nose. The wolf look. Still there but softer 3 days later. Has anyone else had this happen?

A New Start!
Last year at the age of 59, I felt fitter than I had for a long time and had lost over two stone in weight. I had embarked on Couch to 5K and run two Park Runs even though I had never run before! It was my 60th Birthday in March this year and my aim was to feel as good as I possible could for my 60th

What Treatment for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome with Central Hypothyroidism?
Hi, can you help? Is it worth having steroid injections for carpal tunnel syndrome whilst strongly suspecting central hypothyroidism? To make a long story short, I'm not receiving treatment for low thyroid production yet, but I have been seeing an endocrinologist for the last 6 months who has now

Knee surgery at 24
After over a year and a half of steroid injections every month, and biologics continuously not working, I saw a new consultant yesterday who has referred me to have the lining of my knee removed. I'm 24 and have had constant fluid, swelling and pain in only my right knee since I was 16. I've tried to

Help - Comfy slippers and sandals in the UK?
Hi Ladies, can I ask what slippers and sandals you wear? My feet and ankles are so painful at the minute. I’m currently wearing vionic full slippers but they have a fur lining and are so uncomfortable in this heat. They’ve also stretched and my feet are slipping in them. I’m waiting for an appointment

Steroid injection didn’t last long☹️
Had a steroid injection 2 weeks ago. Although didn’t get any great relief for the 1st week this last week has been my best since Christmas. Have had no tiredness, stiffness very little pains or aches and my limp had all but gone. Have loved walking my dog in sun or rain.I’ve been in great humour and

Fighting to keep awake. Is it the medication?
I have spinal stenosis and since December last year my life has changed completely. Before I was going out several times a week, able to walk to the shops, about a mile, nearly every day. Also active politically and in the anti fracking movement locally. I live in Yorkshire, England. At the end

Steroid injections
Hi! I had steroid injections in both knees 2 weeks ago. At first it worked brilliantly, very little pain and of course I was thrilled! However, my right knee is now swollen and hot just as it was before, also very painful. Does anyone else have experience of injections and if so, how long were they

How strong is a Depo Medrone injection does anybody know?
In March I had my first long-lasting Depo Medrone steroid injection (standard dose 40mg per mil x 3 = 120). It worked very well and wore off after about 3 months. Rheumatologist said it was the equivalent of about 4 mg Pred per day and would last 6 months. I just had another injection two weeks ago

Update on is it a flare or hydroxy side effects? post
After being off the hydroxy since the beginning of the week due to possible side effects, I have seen my GP and have managed to get a pack of the Blackrock brand. I will see if this makes any difference to my extreme fatigue/nausea/insomia/lack of appetite/ dry mouth symptoms. I am beginning to think

Feeling so stupid 😱😂
Was up at 5.45 this morning. Went to hospital for 7.15 am for steroid injection into top of my foot. Rather nervous as I know they are not nice. While waiting was chatting to an elderly lady so her daughter could get a ticket put on her car. With doing this did not manage to take my appointment letter

I was diagnosed with JIA back in 2001, even though I had been having problems for a while with one of my knees it came out of nowhere

Prednisolone and Weight gain
Hello, I have been prescribed a reducing dose of prednisolone starting at 30mg and reducing to 5mg over 3 months. I’m already taking Sulfa and Leflu but inflammation and pain remain constant, despite steroid injections (4 over the past 2 months). It might sound silly to be asking about weight gain as
