Bursitis & Tendinopathy
After having focal myosotis in my abductor muscles I’m now experiencing pain in my hips, groin and thighs as I think the tendon aren’t supported by the muscles now as they’re permanently damaged. Anyone experienced this with having myositis? I’m back for my mri results tomorrow just wondering what treatment

Another challenge.... Thryoid and AF
Well after all the kerfuffle over the steroid injection before Christmas, I now have another challenge. MRI test on my spine to check out a recurring hip disorder discovered a 3cm nodule on my thyroid. Evidently these are often discovered accidentally... or even incidentally... when undertaking unrelated

Weakened Immune System and Open Plan Offices at Work
Hi I have recently been diagnosed (Nov ‘19) with RA and I have been off work for the past few months as I had a hip replacement in September. I have been on Methotrexate for almost 6 weeks and steroid injections prior that - I still have pain and stiffness but certainly not as bad as it was initially

Osteo causing RA problems?
Just noticed an osteoarthritis bump coming up on my finger. Had one raise its head a few weeks ago. My question is would this be causing me to flare. Going to hospital on the 9th January for rituximab infusion (4th set). Because of this flare had steroid injection only worked for 10 days. So stiff and

Nausea and bruising due to medication.
After almost 2 years on methotrexate which changed to injections about 7 months ago (plus hydroxychloroquine) my RA has been quite well controlled apart from some intermittent flares. Originally (21months ago) I started to lose a lot of hair but was advised to try a supplement I could purchase from health

How much pain?
Diagnosed with early onset RA January 19 and put on 10mg methotrexate. Told target would be for me to be symptom and pain free. June 18 very painful flare in wrist, couldn't move hand, given steroid injection and methotrexate dose upped to 15mg. From November flare in one wrist and moving to other,

Flare and steroids.
I was diagnosed very quickly with seropositive RA a couple of years ago and have done pretty well on hydroxychloroquine and Sulfasalazine. No flares since then. Two months while on holiday I got pneumonia and was quite ill but recovered after some time in hospital and IV antibiotics. My Rheumatolgy

Steroid injection strengths
Last week I went into the most awful flare I have ever had. I went to the hospital yesterday and was given a 16 strength steroid injection in the bum. I have had them before but never known the strength I have been given. Does anyone know please how strong a 16 is in the scheme of things? Thanks

Shoulder pain - has an injection helped your Shoulder pain ?
I have a lot of arthritis in my shoulders and had an op on the left one about 4 years ago when they cleaned out the joint and tidied it up inside. It helped a lot for the first few years and also gave me back full movement but now the pain is 24/7 again. I was thinking of asking my GP if I could have

Good appointment with Rheumatologist today
I had my check up this morning with my rheumatologist. I’m having a bit of a flare up due to viral chest infection so my appointment came at a good time as pain in hands and feet keeping me awake at the moment. I’ve had a steroid injection to calm everything back down. Referral made to podiatrist, medication

Steroid injection into bottom
Hi all, quick question, hoping for some guidance, I have been having periods of high pain levels and stiffness, phoned the helpline and the nurse has responded with a systemic steroid injection, but when I research this, it looks like intravenous injections can work systemically, but an injection into

What now?
It’s now seven weeks since my last steroid injection in my left knee. It lasted for about five weeks and now the pain has returned. Don’t think my knee actually reduced in size despite fluid being drained or perhaps it was marginal. Now my knee pain is referring down the front of my shin and round the

Can you describe your flares to me?
Hi there everyone, I am new here and relatively new to the RA experience. I was diagnosed with Seropositive RA in April this year, having had symptoms for around a year previously. I currently take Methotrexate, Hydroxychloroquine & Sulfasalazine and I'm interested in hearing about other people's experiences

Steroid injections and Riveroxaban
Hi.… went for a steroid injection in my hip and the young doctor said that my consultant should have mentioned that I was on Riveroxaban as he couldn't give me a joint injection because of the risk of internal bleeding. I have now been diagnosed with a thyroid nodule and have to have a fine needle

Newbie .. follow up
So following on from my previous long post, I had my telephone consult with the lupus unit tonight so wanted to update. Apparently between the blood test results and the physically presentation she feels that there is currently no active lupus - the swelling I present could be soft tissue or even skin

Pre-RA and three months on from initial consultation
Wanted to share an update on my Pre-RA and steps I have been taken. 3 months since seeing GP, and just over 2 since seeing consultant; I have made all suggested changes. Albeit, smoking only reduced by half. I have l lost 12kg now, and am going to the gym 6 days a week. The gym has been really important
