Coughing and runny nose 3 days after first methotrexate
Hi, all sorry me again. So I took my first 10mg of methotrexate on Sunday. Yesterday I started with a runny nose and a bit of a dry cough. Did COVID test, as you do nowadays, negative. This morning I’ve got a runny nose and coughing more. Could this be tablets or just a cold I’ve picked up? Only place

Optical nerve block steroid injections in head, side effects
Hi all, A week ago I had my first steroid injections in my head for my chronic headaches and dizziness. I was told about possible side effects, but this is beyond what I anticipated: 1. Two days after the injections i started having severe headache (literally 9,5/10) where I ended up in bed for 2 full

Update - spinal steroid injections, waiting for pain to go
I’m lying in bed still hoping for some improvement. Had the injections for lumbar disc degeneration & facet arthropathy a few days ago. A mixture of wear & tear & inflammatory arthritis, probably an RA involvement which I have. Gentle walking & lying on my side still provides the only relief. Sitting

Any experience of RLS aggravation from steroid injections?
My RLS seems to worsen about this time of year and I noticed it coincides with my annual injections for arthritis. I believe they contain cortesiosteroids which I couldn’t find on the known, common RLS aggravators.

Hello everyone I just had to share this amazing photo of a horse with a paintbrush in its mouth. He's ten year old Ted and been taught to paint by a student at Oxford Brookes University . He's pictured showing his latest work at Blenheim Palace!!. Rules of the competition are one caption per person

Swollen Knees Synovitis Update
In June I asked for advice regarding if stiff and swollen knees were a part of my PMR. I received some good advice which has helped, i.e check calcium intake which I did, with a blood test and was told by GP to stop taking calcium supplement as my levels were too high. Soon after stopping, the stiffness

Steroid injections
I am about to have some injections in my neck spine that contain steroids to ease headaches. Will these steroids reduce my immune system yet further and for how long?

Terrified to take methotrexate!
Good morning all I have been diagnosed with suspected psoriatic arthritis although I'm not convinced. I have permanently sore elbows and very painful heels. I never have much swelling and all my blood tests are normal. Now and again my knuckles on one or 2 knuckles will swell as well as my 2nd toe

Does anyone know what the difference is between steroid injections and prednisolone tablets?
I was taking a short course of prednisolone, but my rheum suggested I stop that and have a steroid injection instead (one that goes into muscle I think). She seemed keener for me to have the injection, as opposed to the tablets. Didn’t question it at the time, but how is it any different, does anyone

Methotrexate a cause for UTI??
I had symptoms of a UTI back in July. Usual procedure followed. Stop Mxt take antibiotics, but it didn't clear up. My GP said that a rare side effect of Mxt is inflammation of the bladder and as urine test didn't show infection it could be my meds. At first rheumatology would have none of it and told
