Optical nerve block steroid injections in head, side effects

Hi all,

A week ago I had my first steroid injections in my head for my chronic headaches and dizziness. I was told about possible side effects, but this is beyond what I anticipated:

1. Two days after the injections i started having severe headache (literally 9,5/10) where I ended up in bed for 2 full days, barely able to get to the toilet and get some water, the headaches were just not normal (was close to calling for an ambulance), pain killers didn't help.

2. After completing my 2 day "journey", I started loosing the severity of the headaches but the dizziness and lightheadedness increased. Since then- for the last 3 days i've been moving super slowly, not changing positions much to avoid dizziness and nausea.

Anyone can relate to this experience or have any tips how to deal with it?

I too recently had a massive bout of Vertigo, along with sickness (Vomiting) to the extent my son got me by ambulance to hospital, the have diagnosed with ' FEMORAL ARTIRITIS; ( not Arthritis) is is very necessary to be seen ASAP. I have been put on massive doses of Steroids for at least a year,so I'm told it will take that long to hopefully clear, I did not have migraine but it was mentioned as a possible side effect. I have PV . This is a serious condition ,please mention it to your doctor as a possible condition , and push for a proper diagnosis. I was told it could cause sight loss. Mine started with the most painful bout of eye pain. No other symptoms then but within a day or two I spent the next 19 days in bed couldn't move without the room spinning at 100 miles an hour. get yourself checked and good luck

Hi Spruce , I feel for you , my daughter suffers from debilitating cluster headaches nightly beta blockers have stopped headaches dead in there tracks .she started them when she was 29 and has barely had a head ache in 3 years.I had a steroid injection in my back and did not fair well , but not severe like you . When it came to having injection for dreadful arthritis in my neck from a car accident which is totally debilitating ringgit up my neck across my shoulders and part way down my upper spine I to had terrible vertigo and lives with an electric blanket and tens machine and a really good to nature pain creams which I will put up at the end

I opted to trail something else I started a few weeks ago having Traumeel injections in my neck and base of head.

it was something I trialed years ago for Morton’s neuroma a benign tumour on the nerve in my foot and it was a miracle for my foot.

I live in Australia and had to travel to NYC for this treatment now I can’t travel I buy online and a friend injects with gas and air.

I took stemitil for vertigo stopped it in its tracks

1 I don’t know where you live but Traumeel might be worth looking into for injections in the future.

2 Beta blocker if you have not tried have a high success rate.

3 stemitil for vertigo it is also good to stop nausea although not my first call for nausea it is a good dual in your situation. Just nausea Zofram is my preference.
