I still remember when i had one a few years ago in the palm of my hand and it was the most painful injection i had ever had i actually thought i was going to pass out and unfortunately it made no difference.

You have all my sympathies. I had one in my index finger yesterday and that was excruciating!

You have my sympathies. I had one several years ago beneath my ring and middle fingers to try to help with trigger fingers. I thought she would have to scrape me off the ceiling afterwards, it was exceptionally painful and didn't work anyway, so I had to have it redone a few weeks later, that didn't work either so I had surgery.

Yes they do. I have had many into my fingers and wrists over the years but if they work it is worth it. I hope you get benefit from them.

I remember the pain - but the relief afterwards was magical for me.

Me too so the little bit of pain is worth it and isn’t long lasting. x

I hope you’re now feeling the benefit of the injection. I was told the smaller the joint the more painful it can be especially if you’ve a lot of inflammation there as it’s hard for the injection fluid to get into the small space easily so it feels like a pressure and as it’s going in. I felt that in my wrist and finger steroid shots in the past but it was worth doing, so if anyone reading this thread feels put off ... don’t be! It’s not long lasting pain and worth it for the relief the steroid shot brings.

I’m glad you haven’t backed out. Ask the consultant to give you plenty of freeze spray on it prior to the steroid. Rest your hand all you can afterwards. It’s hard to keep it still but if you use it as little as possible for 24 hours after you’ll be likely to get more benefit. Enjoy your weekend too. 💗. Don’t worry they will look after you. x

Oh no, - I have mine booked in a couple of weeks. I am somewhat worried 😬 please do share if it was worth the pain. I hope you feel the relief soon. -All the best. -Hessie 🙂

Don’t be put off at all. People have different levels of pain threshold. xx
