Feeling so fed up
Hey fellow spoonies. Just after some advice on how you'd approach this situation. I feel like I've pretty much been in a flare on and off since Christmas. I was given some pred tablets (v low dose) for some of Jan and Feb, which really helped. But since then it's gotten worse agqain. Then two weeks

Cold water swimming
Has anyone here had adverse effects with their arthritis after cold water swimming? I have quite severe arthritis in my ankle, but until recently it’s been managed quite successfully with steroid injections. In August of last year I took up cold water swimming and now swim in the sea around 5 times

Steroid injections for back pain.
I have osteoporosis following a crack in my right femur which was not set or pinned in 2015 when I had an accident. The right leg deviated out to the right. Over 18 months to 2 years I had 3 steroid injections into my spine. No one told me about risks. Last November I had my leg straightened. This

Follow up to: Help I’m not sure what to do next.
Hi everyone. I have started a new post as wasn’t sure update would show if I responded to original thread. I saw Rod Hughes yesterday. Lovely man, bit condescending but at least he listened. Agreed it’s possible I have GCA as well as PMR but wasn’t interested in pursuing further diagnostics for this

Plantar Fasciitis
Any tips for getting rid of Plantar Fasciitis (a painful heel)? I have had it since September 21, probably caused by digging in inappropriate footwear, and although it's slowly getting better, it ain't gone yet. My previous bout 30 years ago took six months before I hardly noticed it. I have tried rest

Has anyone found that IM steroid injection improved their brain fog, dizziness and fatigue as well as their joint pain?
I have been struggling with my lupus symptoms for several years now, and was formally diagnosed with lupus two years ago. I suffer with joint pain, mainly in my hands, legs and feet, have various gut issues, including diverticulitis and have chronic oral thrush. However, these symptoms are as nothing

Steroid injections
Living abroad, I had, on average, about two steroid injections a year for 3/4 yrs (in the buttocks) whenever I was in a bad flare. Immediate relief for 4-8 weeks. My now UK Rheumy simply said ‘we don’t do that here’ How often is it ok to have a steroid jab?

I am still having difficulties with my food
Well it's been about 5 months since my 3x and stent & I am hoping to get back to work next month. I still have the painful shoulders and going for an X-ray next week- as these steroid injections didn't really help - otherwise I feel great, out walking everyday and enjoying my new life and appreciating

Shoulder pain and stiffness
Since I was eighteen I have had shoulder stiffness. Since my breast cancer surgery, three years ago, it’s got really painful. I have fibromyalgia and wear and tear on my shoulder cuff. I had nerve ablation two years ago as it started to give me agonising nerve pain in my shoulder. I have steroid injections

Exercise, PMR and Piriformis Syndrome
I need some advice from you kind people. I have reduced using the dead-slow method from 12mg Pred for PMR to 5mg at present with no obvious flare (I say obvious as it's hard to disentangle small aches and bad days from adrenal issues). Previously I was on 45mg and reducing from GCA for over year. As

Pain relief from methotrexate?
Starting 10mg methotrexate injections tonight after resisting for 4 years. I'm now in a bad way with sore fingers, toes heels, elbows and hip. I've been diagnosed with Psa although I've never believed it even though I have seen the elbow enthesitis on a scan. I've decided if this pain hasn't healed

does anyone know about steroids and CLL?
I am facing a series of injections for my back. I have a slipped disc and they use steroid injections in the back. My body does not like steroids, I am very sensitive to them. They stay in me a long time, I do not know the reaction between CLL and Steroids. Any help is truly appreciated!

Monoclonal Antibody Treatment for Covid
Hi, does anyone know any more about the eligibility of the monoclonal antibody treatment IF a vulnerable person contracts covid? I received a hospital letter a few months ago confirming my eligibility for a 3rd primary vaccine (which I've now had) but I just wondered if I should then have had a letter
