Hi everyone lm wondering if anyone out there struggles with pulled muscles. I'm coming to terms with the ongoing limitations of ET and age, but right now struggling with an ongoing groin injury and waiting for a another upcoming steroid injection this time based on ultrasound results. Meanwhile imfeeling challenged with what feels like intercostal pain, seeing a private physio this week while my hospital (2 year wait) comes through. Is there anymore l could be doing regarding pain management right now.
If you are having upper abdominal pain, that does need prompt follow up. It could be a number of things ranging from something muscular - to nerve pain - to splenomegaly. There is also the possibility of medication adverse effects. Add to that the fact that as we age we simply do not heal from injuries as well and tend to get deconditioned, predisposing us to further injuries like strained muscles. Perhaps this is what is going on with the groin injury.
It can be tricky figuring out what is the MPN, what is the treatment for the MPN, and what is something completely unrelated. Additional information for consideration is the potential for medication side effects. Not to say this is what is going on, but just for reference here are the relevant HU and Warfarin lists.
Hi Hunter thanks for responding to what feels like a daily moan, lm so fed up with myself right now. Groin injury linked to Tichi class and morphed into dodgy hip all happend early days of pandemic and coincided with a house move. Just waiting for further investigation, latest injury comes on the back of an allergic reaction to candastarten which has left me with severe pain throughout body and an intercostal muscle pull 🙃 Of course your spot on ET and age is taking its toll right now and has left me with all manner of physical and psychological challenges. I'm so grateful for my upcoming appointment with Clare Harrison at Guys Hospital London and feel sure l will get the answers lm looking for. Meanwhile take care Hunter and many blessings. Adiewon
Good morning Wyebird ,It seem to be the case that a regular physio is the way forward particular if one is prone to mucle strain, note to self to make this part of my ongoing self care.
Hi Adiewon2I rate really highly the stretching exercises in the eccentrics programme which was devised by an ex ballerina for mobility and flexibility. It is designed for ‘mature’ people (and everyone else) to keep us moving. You might find them worth your consideration. Here is a link to a you tube clip that is focussed on hips and butt muscles.
Hello C2C how lovley thank you soooo much for your post, just subscribed to essentricstv.com. It appears to be just what lm looking for, hiphiphurah.Blessings
