I hadn’t made a link, but had steroid injection in my knee 10 days ago and have had an unsettled heart since, very short runs of af and a heavy fizzing feeling, I’m often like this before going into Af then afl which doesn't revert without intervention. Could be coincidence, it’s a mystery to me what sets me off, but seems be about every 6 months,

I had an xray guided steroid injection deep into my epigastric area which is not too far away from the heart. Almost anything can trigger my Afib and i dread procedures but I had no reaction heart wise whatsoever with this injection.

Hope it is the same for you.

I had Two Cortisone injections last year - one in my knee and another in my foot. I had a lot of ectopics for a few days but no known AF. My heart is very sensitive to anything that isn’t 100% in my body.

I had steroid injections in my foot several times and you can request adrenaline free injections. No bad effect on my heart at all. 😀

I have had steroid epidurals in my spine and that shit makes my heart race and I can't sleep all night. i hate it! I have also taken anti-inflammatory pills for my sprained ankle it does about the same thing to my heart that the epidural does. I just can't have steroids.I can't have caffeine or any stimulant either.

Steroid injection depletes potassium and magnesium so you need to increase your intake of potassium and magnesium and calcium too. The one in the shoulder or the knee is delay form of steroid. It will take months to be metabolized. So keep replenish your potassium and magnesium for months. Excess of it will be flushed thru the kidney. Low potassium and magnesium levels are well known to trigger Afib.
