Steroid injection in knee - worth it?
Hello. I have inflammatory arthritis and have had knee pain for a few years, and a baker's cyst in my left knee. Scans also showed osteoarthritis and some mild effusion a year ago. Sometimes the pain is quite bad, especially on stairs. Sometimes it's only aggravated by activity. Sometimes there's barely

F2F with rheumatologist
Had a f2f with rheumatologist last week . Really thorough appt. Gave me a steroid injection to get me through my dads funeral. Both agreed things continue to be very active . He said he wanted to go over my history and get back in touch after another blood test. Letter received this morning. New diagnosis

I had the worst pain of my life last night. I couldn’t get out of bed for 1.5 hrs!
I come on here sometimes to have a good moan. I’ve had RA since i was 21. (30 yrs). Plus Iritis & Glaucoma. I’ve had an awful time the last month. First i had a very painful flare of my Iritis. Deep throbbing, burning, aching in my right eye, very bad vision. Had to go to Moorfields a&e. Went at about

knee replacement during ADT
I have been on ADT for 8 months. I have a small farm and usually do constant physical labor. I find that I now have major fatigue and can now only do small things that leave me exhausted. I fell and wrenched my knee. I got a steroid injection and have a brace, my knee is bone o bone. I need a knee replacement

Steroids v Rituximab - any advice/opinions?
so I’ve not been on here for a very long time while I’ve been going round the houses with different consultants. I’m now in the position where I’m getting bad flares and high ANA but a bit of a question mark over whether it’s lupus or multiple autoimmune issues causing it. MCAS is strongly suspected

Burst Bakers Cyst
I was diagnosed with RA about 6 years ago, initially on a combination of Hydroxychloroquine, Sulfasalazine and MTX but couldn't tolerate the MTX so have been on Benepali Etanercept for last couple of years. In Feb this year I suffered a burst Bakers Cyst which was quite restrictive and latterly quite

Migraine surgery center
I woke up with a stiff neck in March 2020. This eventually resolved but has morphed into chronic neck pain, stiffness and headache. I have a constant heavy dragging feeling combined with waking up sometimes 5 nights in a row with splitting headaches. I’ve had cervical denervation, Botox, local anaesthesia

stopping blood thinners/antiplatelets for steroid injections
Hi all! I saw an orthopaedic surgeon the other day for an ongoing painful back problem -- bulging disks, spinal stenosis, spondylosthetis (sp?). He said I didn't need surgery (whew!) as I'm completely mobile and active so he offered steroid injections into the facet joints. He has to stop the blood

Hello PMR people. I have been logging on to health unlocked thyroid uk since being diagnosed 6 or 7 years ago and found it very helpful to hear of the experiences of others. How long does a depo-medrone injection last
I had a steroid injection just over 8 weeks ago and feeling fantastic still! I usually only have relief for about 4 weeks, if anything, so does that mean my biologic might actually be working? I’ve been on Benepali since last December (alongside Sulfasalazine) and not seen any real improvement.

Knee pain
Hi I have just gone down to 5 mg. not had any pmr pains yet. So ok so far. But what I am wondering is I expect to get some pains as I reduce. But before I had pmr I have had pain in knees for some years. Not taken anything for it. Except a few steroid injections over the years they say osteoarthritis

Steroid Injection
Hi Am getting a steroid injection from my rheumatologist- but am not in any pain at the moment and haven’t had a flare since Winter. I feel I should decline the injection at this time - any views from anyone?

Ignorance
Slight rant but more despair at the ignorance of ones, and lack of desire for them to educate themselves before making assertive statements about treatment. Let me briefly explain, on Saturday I went to a family gathering, long time since everyone together. Included my sister and family from Australia
