Steroid injections and heart meds
Good morning everyone. I have been referred for steriod injections due to chronic back pain and just wondering if anyone else has had this treatment whilst on the usual heart meds. Ie Ticagrelor, Aspirin, Atorvastin?

Steroid injection
Sorry, it's me again! I had an IM steroid injection yesterday (I thought it was called Feno.... or something like that - forgot to make a note of it). Today I feel weird. I have different aches and pains (feels more muscular/nerve pain) as well as the normal ones and general nausea/ increased fatigue

Firstly a big thank you for all the advice that I got when I posted yesterday. I took a document covering general health before onset, onset and symptoms which was very helpful. The consultant listened to everything and then did a small amount of joint examination. He said that joints are swollen including

Little Update!
Well today I had my first lot of steroid injections into my scar to try and reduce the keloid and help with the tissue around my scar which at times can be stingy. Also had to see my cardiologist as an emergency outpatient due to extreme oedema in my feet and legs. Water tablets prescribed as well as

Are There Any Non Steroid Pain Injections available on the NHS for joint pain?
I am sure that this lovely community will know the answer to my question if anybody does. Can you get any non steroid based pain injections for joint and back pain on the NHS? If so , do you know what they are called , and where you need to get referred for them? If there aren't any within the NHS ,

COSENTYX alternative??
I have been on 300mg Cosentyx since Dec, I also take MTX which my consultant reduced from 20 to 10 as she felt my neutrophils were too low. While I am better than I was a year ago I still seem to be in a continuous flare. First my hips, then as that dies down my shoulders, knees or wrists start up. I

added twist
Hello all Haven't posted for a while as generally, things OK ish. Had a few ups and downs with the HRT but seems to be good at the moment and overall a benefit to my various UIA related issues. By no means a cure. Still on hydroxyc. which is still keeping the Raynaud's at bay and I do feel fewer flare

Trigger finger/injection
Hi I have a trigger finger which interferes with my violin playing (as well as hurts!) I know the classic treatment is a steroid injection but I also know that they don’t give them to people on ‘blood thinners’. Does anyone know of an alternative? I wear a splint at night but just at night. Thanks.

Amitriptyline withdrawals
It is a long time since I have written a post here, mainly because I have been struggling with all sorts of problems! To re cap - I have had PMR for 10 years since I was 52, and basically never got below 10 mgs Pred. Many many flares trying to reduce. I have OA and have had 2 new hips and 2 new knees

PHONECALL FOR F2F & GENERAL MOAN (SORRY)
Hi everyone, hope you're all as well as you can be. I had a f2f in March which was only my 2nd appointment with the NHS rheumatologist, I wasn't very happy with this appointment as the consultant more or less told me I had to decide what was worse, the pain or side effects from the medication & suggested

I’m rare apparently!
Just had a f2f with my rheumatologist upshot is I have both RA and PSA usually have one or the other not both . I don’t have psoriasis but it’s in the family. So a game of messing with meds . First off upping MTX. I’ve had problems with the higher doses before so going to try again. He doesn’t want to

Prednisolone 20mg for a week
Hi there, This May seem like a trivial concern to those of you who are on long-term oral steroids, but I am quite worried, having been prescribed prednisolone 20 MG for seven days in order to control long-standing inflammation in my left foot.I am very reluctant to take it as I have already had numerous

Advise please my gurus! I have developed a very painful arthritic shoulder. It is not PMR as I tried sick day rules and it made very little difference to the pain and bone clicking. My GP wants to give me a steroid injection into the joint but not with ultrasound —— just experience!! Has anyone

Hello, Two queries: I have had RA since the 1980s. Have other autoimmune diseases as well as osteoporosis. I requested an MRI scan of my lower spine in 2020 because of extreme pain and losing my mobility, aged 74. This showed I have a fracture of the sacrum on one side of sacrum which was referred

Me and my knee again!
My knee is still absolutely giving me gyp! Following a flare up post Covid, I have increased my Sulfasalazine, added Hydroxychloroquine and just finished a 3 week course of Predisolone, as well as having had 2 steroid injections. The all over flare has dampened down a little but as soon as I return
