Hi
Am getting a steroid injection from my rheumatologist- but am not in any pain at the moment and haven’t had a flare since Winter.
I feel I should decline the injection at this time - any views from anyone?

I’m not sure why they’re saying you have to have one but if you don’t need it don’t have it. I think your feeling is right but only you can decide that but if it was me I’d decline it.
Maybe ask to postpone it and see what unfolds may be a way forward as then it leaves the option open if suddenly you find you needs one (?)

I would decline….I reckon to save all medication until I feel need it!
Is the jab into a joint or intermuscular? Strange you don't know why.
Hi I’d told him ( by phone appointment) I d had a bad flare earlier this year. Straight after my spring booster- so I assume he was being “proactive”.
It just felt wrong to push a steroid in when there’s no flare up - plus I ve blood pressure anyways so all in all not a good idea so declined it. It was into the hip by the way as had flare pain everywhere when I was having problems.
I do not understand why they would offer it if your not in pain. I’d definitely decline, especially given covid numbers are climbing again, and steroids reduce your immunity further. Save it for when you need it.
