Vasculitis/Tocilizumab
I have posted before regarding the fact that after a year on
steroids
and having many side effects I was told to reduce them by 1mg a month. My rheumatologist did not think I had PMR (diagnosed originally by GP).

I stopped steroids rapidly and all PMR symptoms returned - HELP!
I have difficult situation as I was responding really well 25mg of
steroids

Allergic Asthma
Due to all the inhaled
steroids
I now have a small sqeeky strangled sounding voice rather than the deep voice I used to have. So I take Montelucast, Fexofenadine, Spiriva, Citrazine, Dymista, Symbicourt and lots of good old Salbutamol.

Worried About (Possible) Recent Diagnosis of PMR.
If I’m honest, I’m still unconvinced that I do have PMR and scared of being on
steroids
unnecessarily. I’m considering cutting back or stopping the Pred before my appointment in 2 weeks to see if it makes and difference, but would this be unwise? Any helpful advice appreciated. Thanks.

inflammation in eyes
I was told the cataract are easy to fix but today the doctor told me she won’t fix them as if the inflammation comes back the
steroids
will cause complications with the new lens.

any one had to stop work due to health?
I’ve just had a year off during which I had a craniotomy and RT as well as dealing with taking
steroids
for GCA which isn’t helping! I have just started a phased return to work. Work have been amazing and my return is very flexible. However, I don’t know if I can do it.

Lichenoid Dermatitis
In Mar I went to a dermatologist who started treating me with
steroids
& by May I had a biopsy, it was Lichenoid Dermatitis. It's left ugly, dark splotches on mmeals over with peeling skin.

Prednisolone Advice. You could be stuck with me for a while!
From my perspective.....if these
steroids
do work then it's something I suppose I'm pleased about.....The Rheumatologist felt it was the best worst case scenario for me and with the support of this group I'm hopeful that I will get through this....

Update.
I contacted this forum, for the first time, just over 4 months ago as I had reduced my
steroids
from 5mg to 2.5mg and I felt ill. I was concerned that my PMR had returned. I was given some very useful advice and I contacted my GP who is very supportive.

Flare or steroid withdrawal? - the question is often asked so here's my two pen'orth
IF
you reduce
steroids
and feel very unwell indeed, like you've been hit by a bus, feel nauseous, complete lack of energy, dizzyness
AND
you're at a dose of around 5ish, it's possible that you're having adrenal problems - see other posts about that including some of my own experiences.

Hi! Just joined. Is there MG-lite?
I've lived with atopic dermatitis and multiple allergies all my life, which are controlled with local
steroids
, antihistamines and emollients. My mother had ankylosing spondylitis. Those facts, and my good response to prednisolone, convince me I have a autoimmune disease.

I've been asked to go back to hospital on Sunday morning for more
steroids
for the swelling and to see my consultant. What type of questions should I be asking him? Also I need some advise on how to "chill out" and stop overthinking! Thanks All.

how long to recover
I usually carry on working as long as I can when I’m on
steroids
and antibiotics but I have been off work for a week and I feel guilty. 2 courses of pred down and still wheezy. I think I will need another course but it is getting better.

Drowning in mucous !
I have just done 7 days of Doxycycline (7 days more to take) and 5 days of
steroids
and the mucous just wont stop. I can feel it gurgling when I breathe in. I am able to cough it up easily enough but there`s no let up. I am seeing the consultant on the 5th October .

PMR and the effect on mental health.
I first thought it was a side effect of
steroids
( I am currently on 9mg and reducing 1/4 every 10 days minimum) but, now I feel it may be PMR and its effect on my mental health.

GCA relapse?
I really don’t want to get back on
steroids
unless I am sure this is a relapse. They’ve played havoc with my body. Jackie

PMR flare and Pred advice please
I was aware of the amounts of stress hitting me due to these events but was reluctant to increase the dose any more as the
steroids
have been causing me so many side effects , esp. feeling on edge and super anxious , (horrible) .
