She has told me to stop the pred once my 2 week prescription is finished and I hadn’t been on the
steroids
long enough to need to reduce slowly. I’m going on holiday next week and not too happy about stopping abruptly. Any advice ?

painful shoulders after dead slow taper to 2mg.
I’m diabetic due to
steroids
. I’ve just started a drop to 2mg, again using a slow taper over a month. But for the last 5 days my shoulders have been hurting and getting worse. It’s not equal though, my left is worse and I’m finding it hard to dress.

Started
steroids
15mg to 4 mg monthly twice, then 8mg to 4mg. After which I have been on 5mg for a further 2 months and advised to stay on this dosage.I'm also now taking 20mg Methotrexate once a week. Still experiencing stiffness and pain.

tooth extraction - Pred increase?
Should I increase my
Steroids
for a few days? I’m also on Xaralto (blood thinners) for Atrial Fibrilation, I’m considering missing the one dose due to be taken Thursday evening (apparently they have a 24 hour span in my blood) hence the taking of one per day. Advice appreciated - thank you

hip stiffness
Advice please as I don’t want to increase the
steroids
if it’s considered unnecessary but I don’t want to be adding to the “dripping tap”

Leukoplakia, is it autoimmune?
Reading up about this suggests that it may be another autoimmune condition, in which case might it go away of its own accord now I'm on
steroids
for PMR?

Having caught a bug off my daughter (flu like symptoms all last week) I called a temp halt to exercise.Over the weekend, it's morphed into a severe chest infection and I'm now on antibiotics and
steroids
. I need this like I need a hole in my head !

Out of hospital Pt2
I'm on more
steroids
. Slowly reducing and Anakinra... daily biologic. It's an actual syringe job so it's as well I'm a vet and used to giving injections. It's worse injecting yourself but I'll get on with it. Fingers crossed I'll be a new woman in the new year. 🙌

Update re RA and associated Colitis
Treatment is
steroids
. It's been a long journey after being told for years it was IBS. TBH honest I'm glad of a true diagnosis. Unfortunately the RA also attacked my Pancreas. Funny thing is and I need to laugh is the RA is in remission thanks to Benipali. Silver clouds and all that

Relapse of GCA
On Friday I posted that after only a few months off
steroids
I was again suffering from GCA. The GP gave me 60mg
steroids
and after only three days I am already feel significantly better. The GP rang today, giving me an appointment to see him on Wednesday to decide how to proceed.

Brain dead
I’m worried how bad my cognitive function has become under
steroids
and that it may get worse with struggling adrenal glands as I drop below 10mg.

NHS On The Ball As Ever, Not.
Anyway it was decided after lots of tests it was an exacerbation of my asthma, I was treated with a nebuliser,
steroids
and a stronger inhaler and released. Fast forward to this week and I got a phone call from the surgery inviting me for an asthma review, something I havent had in years.

Does asthma severity tend to reflect that of sinuses?
One of my issues is anxiety - I missed my nasal steroid last night to give my nose a break as the
steroids
are always drying it out. I still took the antihistamine and momtelukast. Through the day I got the familiar tingle and fullness in my sinuses m.

Multiple short courses of steroids for cough
My question is do any of you good people know of the impacts of 8 or so short courses of pred/oral
steroids
in a year... Horrible as it is to write this, that is where we are. Grateful for any information on this.
