Looking to see if any one has problem with hair thinning although no recent change in medication. Las summer Dermatologists prescribed BETACAP SCALP APPLICATION which worked well on flaking red scalp. Did notice hair a bit thinner but put it down to age.
Was back with Dermatologist this week . My BIG PROBLEM now is my hair is thinning badly especially at the front and crown !!. I have always had fine hair but plenty of it. It has gotten so thin over the last few months it is now very noticeable. All I can see is my scalp shining when I look in the mirror.👎👎 when I go for a walk I’m like Boris (With thin hair ) on a bad hair day.
Dermatologist said combination of long-term use of steroids, Rituximab,Mepacrine any one of these or combination. I know with medical issues over last 11 years I should not be worried about hair loss but it is really getting me down.
Any words of wisdom

Worth asking your dermatologist if you can take nourkin . Nourkin for women has lots of scientific backing but you will need to check it doesn’t clash with any other meds x
I am experiencing the same issue due to bad outbreak of discoid rashes on scalp. My hair is growing back but it thinning badly it not due to age. The steroid contributed to this but helped tremendously with inflammation. Remedy is keeping my stress level down. Cover up from sun as this is trigger for lupus. Be gentle with my hair ...... and pray for the best
Hi thank you for your reply. Like you Steroid really keeps things on an even keel. Dermatologist discussed reducing steroid to 4 mg after summer to see if that would still work. Flare comes back if I go down to 2.5 so cover up and hope for the best for next. Few months. Enjoy week end.
