Phew that was a hot one ! Not sure why but I am finding that in the first five minutes of my longer run I'm really struggling with my breathing, then it just seems to sort itself out. Can't believe that I am actually running for 25 mins non stop, 11 years ago I had a spinal fusion and never thought I'd be able to achieve anything like this.😁😁

I struggle with the first 5-10 minutes of every run as well then seem to settle into it. I think there's a reason for it - have heard people here talk about the toxic 10 and I'm sure a more knowledgable poster will be along in a bit to elaborate!

Excellent achievement especially with your medical condition.

Well Done to you :-)

I think it's quite standard for the first 5 minutes (and the last 5 minutes) of any run, at whatever distance, to be the hardest - the body needs to settle down to the routine and rhythm I think.

Well done for getting through it though - and yes, it's amazing and great to think that we now find running for 25 minutes just a normal thing to do on a Sunday morning, isn't it! :)
