Gaucher Disease

Does anyone on here have Gaucher Disease? There seems to be a link between that, Parkinsons, and being an ashkenazi Jew. I'm trying to get more information about this. Thanks. Symptoms and timing of getting one then the other or simultaneous diagnosis.

I am an Ashkenazi Jew with PD and have the carrier gene for Gaucher.

I am an ashkenazi Jew with Parkinsons Disease as well but I didn't know anything about Gaucher Disease until yesterday and I'm getting checked out for it.

I strongly recommend doing genetic test. It shows mutations that are linked to both PD and GD.

there is genetic test for pd? they're probably looking for markers.

interesting... both parents carry the gene.... but are not affected themselves. suggests that maybe, if my father had small print, but drank from same well, i couldn't get heredity pd/gd? and the well water is catalyst.... ?

this is assuming gautiers disease is caused by gene with pd.

i had uncontrollable eye twitching for acouple of months a long while back.

There is a study that is looking at a connection between Parkinsons Disease, Gaucher Disease and being an Ashkenazi Jew.
