Role of Shingles virus in triggering GCA
Still not sure that my diagnosis was correct ( in June 2017), but if it proves I do have GCA, then in my case, I am sure Shingles was the culprit, and I would like to lobby for
Shingles
vaccine
to be offered in the U.K. much earlier than the current 70 ( which is far too late).

Got Shingrex vaccination
Went for my checkup with my oncologist last month and he stated that he wanted me to go ahead and get the Shingrex (
shingles
)
vaccine
before my immune system was shot. I almost bailed before the shot, so fearful of the side effects.

Suffering with flu!
I am really cursing for not having a flu vaccine. I did go to the doctors twice and for various reasons they could not do it and as I havn't had flu since I was in my 20's I was stupid and didn't get it done. Now boy do I regret that. I had forgotten how ill it makes you feel. On the plus side I am

Latest update from Rienij,
Dear friends thank you for your support over the last three month. It certainly has been turbulent. But today I finally escaped from the hospital. Have now been in hospital of the trust. 4 hospitals in all. Enough is enough. Back home having carers coming in 4 x a day. Hopefully that will work nicely

Am I overreacting to husbands flu? My husband is 43. His dad had heart attacks from age 38 and died at 54. My husband is also asthmatic.
He is currently suffering a bad bout of flu having forgotten to have his flu jab. I’m really concerned about his health based on his dads history and feel the nurse he saw today and the 111 consultation have overlooked an underlying issue. Am I over-worrying or should I push for more attention? Thanks

CLL, Bladder Cancer and BCG coming up for me
I've been on Ibrutinib for about 1 year, diagnosed in 2009, first round of chemo in 2012 at Duke Med on a clinical trial stopped because of extreme hemolytic reaction. Chemo infusions again in 2015, worked for a couple of years. Started Ibrutinib in April 2018. Prostate resection in D3cemer 2018.

Now what do I do?
Advice please! I graduated in the summer feeling very smug. Started on retirement at 65 having never ever run, but made it and could do 5k in 36 minutes. Blood pressure down from borderline needing medication to completely normal and puffy ankles vanished! Smug is an understatement! However, I have

Is it safe for me if my wife has the live shingles vaccine?
My wife is 71 and has low immunities and wants to have the live
shingles
vaccine
available here in the UK. Her nurse says that Public Health England says she can have it and I'll be safe.

Hydroxy and shingles vaccination
My wife went for a flu & shingles jab today but was advised by the nurse not to have the shingles vaccination because it is a live virus and could affect me as I am on hydroxycarbamide. Has anyone else come across this? John

FLU JAB AND VENESECTIONS
Flu Jab. Probably a coincidence but had my first flu jab last week a couple of days before my venesection. Within another couple of days developed the worst sinus infection I have had for at least 3 or 4 years? I am diagnosed with secondary PV and take aspirin and my venesections are every 6 weeks.

Flu Jab
I have never had a flu jab though I have been eligible for a few years. I wasn't convinced they helped and had seen lots of people become ill after them. I hate medication and tend to avoid it if possible. However, with IPF I am under a lot of pressure to have the jab. I did have a chest infection last

Still not quite 100 percent after the evil flu jab, but well enough to manage 2:2 😀 Man, it’s cold out there !
