Constant Infections
Hiya everyone, I returned to work in November last year, working at an infant school. I still have Afib and flutter and think I have occasional SVTs since the ablation last June but my heart has not been a major problem except for the tiredness from taking the drugs. I had my flu vaccine last year

Shingles vaccine?
I am about to start on Methotrexate next week , starting on a low dose. I take Sulfasalazine but it has stopped working so well so I will be taking them both and working up the dosage of Methotrexate. My Consultant asked if I’d had the Shingles jab as I should do. She told me 2 yrs ago not to have it

Shingles vaccine update
I called my haematology department today and they advised that it is ok for my wife to have the zostavax
shingles
vaccine
containing the live virus and that it does not pose a risk to me. I'm not sure if the NHS currently allows shingrix (non-live virus) in the UK, but my CCG doesn't support it.

The waiting room.
Sat here in the waiting room, Watching for my name. To go and see the doctor Well that is why I came. Not to watch the silver screen, For it to show my name. I watch TV at home not here That was not my aim. But now I keep my eyes glued, Cos my hearings not too good. I need to see my name on screen,

HPV Vaccine
Hello does anyone have any advice on the risk of my daughter getting RA or other autoimmune disease triggered if she has the HPV vaccine. They are about to give them to 12 to 13yr olds at her school. I am nervous because I have read there is some evidence to suggest a link. I also know someone who's

bladder cancer
I have bladder cancer, solid tumor , inoperable. I've had bcg and gemcitabine which has been ineffective. I've had 2 stents in ureters because tumor has pressed on ureters and effected kidney function. I'm 81 years old. No treatment has been offered.

100 years later, why don’t we commemorate the victims and heroes of ‘Spanish flu’?
Worldwide, the pneumonic influenza pandemic of 1918–19 killed an estimated 50-100 million people – at least three times all of the deaths caused by the First World War. Influenza vaccinations were first made available in the 1930's: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Influenza_vaccine Full article by Peter

HI, I am new here.
Hello, this is my first post. I am not officially diagnosed with APS yet. I had a stroke while on vacation. I am 49 years old, had flown two days prior to the CVA and was on an antiviral for shingles around the right side of my torso. I was in Orlando and had ridden roller coasters for two days, as well

What is "Healthy Eating" and how do you know you are doing it?
As a child one day I fell down from the top of our stone staircase from top to the bottom. My mum treated me by putting butter over the painful parts, including my forehead. I don't want to repeat the incident, but without much external help my body healed itself. Today there are no scars to remind

Shingles
Would be keen to hear from anyone with S.L.E. & Shingles. !st time I have had Shingles (S.L.E. 9yrs). A bit surprised at how painful it is & how low I feel. Left side under breast wraps around to spine. On Antivirals & Endep for pain (not making much of a difference) Dr said it may last 3 months. Yikes

Any advice
Hi all. Long story short, I've had essential tremor (or what I thought was ET) since 2012, over the past 6 months it has got progressively worse, along with some other neurological symptoms. On the 27th of December I was admitted to hospital due to complete paralysis/weakness in both my legs. Fast forward

Shingles!!!
Hello ladies 😊. I’m due to start my second round of ICSI in January and today I found out that I have shingles 😩. I had a itchy rash for the last week so today I went to see the GP as it’s not going away and they confirmed that I have shingles. I’ve asked if I will be ok to continue with my treatment
