Hello everyone, I was deemed eligible for the shingles vaccine and will have it in early November. I’d appreciate any thoughts and expressions. I don’t know if I had chickenpox as a child. I was told this might be relevant. Many thanks

I’m in that inbetween age ie 67 in February 2024 hence now have to wait for the new vaccine while younger people get it before me. I wondered if we would be considered vulnerable and get it that way ? I’ve not been invited by the local practice. I’m currently on 6.5mg pred, but have been here and lower

Just got a phone call from GP booking me in for my shingles vaccine as I fit the criteria.Has anyone had any experience of the jab. Do I need to ask Rheumatology about changing my tcz infusion times . Thanks , I not after medical advice just whether you personally had to adjust your drip timings.

Hi Everyone, I received my second (recombinant) shingles vaccine yesterday. The first one caused a mild fever and malaise. This time my finger joints are stiff and pretty painful. Has anyone else had something similar and, if so, how long did it last? Thanks so much

My GP surgery is offering me the shingles Vaccine. Has anyone had any side effects from it. I am worried as I stopped having the flu vaccine because of painful side effects. Is it safe to have and would you advise having it?

Hi Everyone, I'm writing this just in case there is anyone out there who thinks they can't have the shingles vaccine because they are on pred. I believed this and refused the vaccine. I later found It was only true if you were on over 20mgs of pred (which I am not).

I’ve just found that I can have the shingles vaccine as it is not a live vaccine now . I have had kidney problems with pred, methotrexate, statins, istins, neurontin, folic, Omeprazole, etc etc!

There's nothing I do, no pattern, except I had a shingles vaccine last week. No after effects. But the previous occasions were not after a vax. The pain goes completely with an extra 5mg of pred within 24 hours. But surely it's not PMR just in such a small area?

Hi, My GP is recommending shingles vaccine. I am just concerned if it will cause atrial fibrillation. Any one had shingles vaccines with no adverse effects like atrial fibrillationThanks Padma

-Finally, Shingles vaccine. We have non live vaccine only now and can give the 2 doses , 6 months apart. Called Shingrix. I am housebound, have low immunity but the vaccine was refused me due to having to send a nurse out !

Last Thursday I had the Shingles vaccine, 1st dose. I immediately had a sore arm, painful really and that continued into the weekend. I also felt generally unwell, completely out of kilter and dizzy/ nauseous at times, runny nose and a bit of a cough.

Does anyone know how long you have to leave it after rutuximab before having the shingles vaccine. I had infusion in December & my GP has never offered this or the pneumonia jab so was going to chase this up. Tia
