currently going through diagnosis
Hi all, Just looking for some advice, my daughter is currently under investigation for epilepsy, we have had an EEG which showed
seizure
activity and currently awaiting an MRI scan, just wanting some advice with regards to what else to expect, are they the two main diagnostic tools?

Initial diagnosis Ataxia but then a Brain Tumour
I’m currently checked every 6 months and on anti
seizure
medication after having my first
seizure
hours after surgery. I’m really grateful to still be alive as I was advised I only had 6 months to live as my symptoms were getting a lot worse. They think the tumour had been growing for 15-20 years.

Disappointing seizure…
There were mixes of strong beer and wines, which didn’t cause any specific issue, but I disappointingly did not respect hydration so I suffered a
seizure
at 8am in the morning whilst visiting the bathroom.

New to Epilepsy
His first
seizure
was back in February at night whilst he was at uni with his girlfriend - and with it being back in February and not having another
seizure
they didn’t think it was epilepsy and was released from hospital checks. We are now waiting for a new neurologist appointment.

Beginning of IVF, how to proceed with work when there are risks RE lifting, moving and handling… !???
If you imagine a 10 stone person falling towards you, and needing support during a
seizure
, would you say this is probably unsafe for the whole pregnancy? My thoughts are probably yes.

fainting every time I’m ill
Last spring I had a tooth extraction and same again fainted and actually had a
seizure
this time too. All I get told is ‘some people are more prone to fainting’ and maybe that’s right but I’m desperately looking for another option so thinking maybe it’s linked to my thyroid somehow?

My question is, should she be avoiding these altogether, could they trigger a
seizure
as having the opposite effect as she says, doesn’t sit well with me at all. Tia

Seizure Alert App for Apple Watch.
I am trying to find a reliable app you can use on the apple watch which detects seizures and send notifications to a set contact if the situation arises. I would also like it to monitor when I’m asleep to indicate if any seizures occur.

How Long Does it Take to Regain a Full State of Consciousness After a Medically Induced Coma?
Shortly thereafter he suffered a grand mal
seizure
. After the
seizure
the doctors were having difficulty getting him to awaken, so they induced a coma. A few days later on June 5th he was weaned from the sedatives. He was talking and laughing, but also seemed confused and agitated.
