Daily Chat: Wednesday 13th March 2013 - No Smoking Day
Good Morning Everybody :-) Today is National No Smoking Day in the UK :-) Not to be seen as a day where you 'can't smoke', but more of a day to encourage those of you who want to
quit
to do so, or have a go at
smoking
for just one day and maybe find that giving up 'is not too bad' afterall :-)

Article in news about e-cigarette
I would also you to consider whether or not you are wanting to use the e-garette to eventually stop smoking, to help you to cut down the amount you smoke or use it just to replace
smoking
?

Hello, I have decided to
quit
smoking
but I am insure of what to do to help myself. Whether I should go it alone or to seek advice from a pharmacy to advise me about patches etc. I have no idea what is available to help me quit.

As many of you know over the last 9 months I have managed to
quit
smoking
. However not soon enough, as I have just gone through surgery for lung cancer. However I have pulled through and just got a course of chemotherapy which I start next week.

still got this chest infection and it is scaring me to death
I
quit
smoking
6 years ago but smoked for nearly 45 years quite heavilly, and I know that this can bring on lung cancer, even though youhave quit. My symptoms are usual of a chest infection, or at least I think they are.

Good Morning and Happy Valentines Day to you all :-) Halfway through the month and only 4 more weeks to go until National No
Smoking
Day - this can be used as your
quit
date or even as a day when you can practice stopping smoking for just one day and see how it feels.

Good Morning Everybody :-) Today is the first Monday of the year, what will it bring for you I wonder? I hope its plenty of smiles and not very much cravings. Having said that, remember that if you do have cravings then it's a positive sign that your body is recognising that you are not feeding it

Inflamed and itchy skin when using patches.
Last week a
quit
smoking
advisor started me on Nicorette 25mg patches. I have tried them on my chest and tops of feet. No matter where they are placed, my skin underneath gets inflamed (looks like sunburn) and starts itching. Does anyone else have this problem?

You'll find lots of information there that you won't find on other
quit
smoking
sites. :) We're a friendly bunch on here and word is spreading around the world - we now have a new member in California - is there anyone else outside of the UK yet? Have a good day and chat away. :)

Before you reach your quit date, try to understand what part of smoking actually satisfies you....
Here is a simple thought provoking exercise to try before your
quit
date; 1. Don't worry about stopping
smoking
but become really aware of each cigarette or roll up that you smoke and the whole process of smoking each individual one. What do you believe you really enjoy about it?

Is changing your behaviour really that important?
Evidence shows that if a smoker uses a service such as
Quit
Support, their local stop
smoking
service or NRT (or both), then they are more likely to still be stopped at 4 weeks. If they stop for at least 28 days, then they are more likely to stay stopped longer.

THANK YOU QUIT SUPPORT
Without
quit
support and all its members I don`t think I could have kept going. The love and care you all sent was unbelievable. THANK YOU you are all angels. THINK when the cravings start, is it worth it. I know my answer.
