wow sounds like an over active thyroid to me. Are you losing weight? Palpitations? (heart suddenly thudding for a couple of beats). More frequent bowel movements than is normal for you? I stopped a few years ago and then developed a very overactive thyroid. Is it hard work going upstairs? Do you feel you can hardly put one foot in front of the other when walking any where or even feel like you're walking on marshmellow. A goitre is often associated with an overactive thyroid so the front of your neck just under your throat may appear swollen, you can notice it more when you swallow.

Hi Joale, I have never heard of this after stopping smoking and I would go and see you Doctor ASAP and get checked over. Well done in quitting, I am sure those affect have nothink to do with quitting and the sooner you get them sorted you will reap the benefits of not smoking.

Take care and see your Doctor soon.

Hi Joale, as with all the above advice, I would suggest that you go and see your GP. Let him / her know about all your symptoms and how long you've had them for.

With regards to it being any link to you stopping smoking, have these symptoms started only recently? Are you using or have you changed the NRT that you have been using?

Please let us know how you get on won't you?
