A Month's Victory
I think I became a member of this site after 1 week victory over cigarettes. I was going through a hard time with my quit and decided I needed some help. I am very thankful I found this site. I have learned some critical principles here that has helped me survive and make staying quit easier for me

Smoking is not a Habit
Smoking is an addiction and too many people say and write that it is the hardest addiction to beat. This is not true. There are no physical withdrawal aches or pains. We are easily distracted from thinking about lighting up. The hardest part of quitting is a sense of emptiness. Surely we can endure

Saying farewell...
Not to you lovely people but on this beautiful sunny day my family and i are going to say farewell to our mum. There are obviously mixed emotions but also the relief that (hopefully) my quit means I will not have to suffer the progressive and debilitating illness that took her life. Mum knew years ago

3 weeks and no desire but lungs are killin' me
I am a 44 y/o male, 22 years in the Army, smoked for 27 years, and prayed and
quit
smoking
three weeks ago. I didn't pray to
quit
smoking
, I prayed to eliminate the desire to smoke. Which worked much better for me. I tried everything to quit, you name it, I did it. But this time was different.

How to quit
Hi, I'm 16 and want to
quit
smoking
but my mom and auntie still smoke. How do I
quit
with them
smoking
? Oh and my mom does not support my smoking. As long as I get my own smokes. She doesn't say anything. But I want to stop but it's so hard. Any suggestions??

New Pathways Part 7
So, we've established some irrefutable truths in this journey: 1. 90% to even 100% of smokers, from a cognitive perspective, at some stage don't want to be. That includes those who don't want to quit but wish they had never started. 2. Nicotine has only a minor role to play in the overall battle.

Unable to stop smoking
I have smoked for 45years plus. I have lifelong asthma, bronchitis and all my life I have used various medications to get me over the bad times. I developed rheumatoid arthritis in my mid thirties and started copd 10 yrs ago. I was diagnosed with lung cancer over two years ago having a right lung

Sometimes It feels so isolating
I
quit
smoking
using a medication called CHAMPIX. Well. Biggest mistake EVER. Yes it worked wonders in completely destroying any nicotine craving whatsoever (I used to be 40 a day) and I now smoke Zero.

New Pathways Part 2
Different behaviours & circumstances release "feel good" chemicals in our brain...seratonin, dopamine, oxytocin & endorphins. To some degree, depending on how & why you smoke all of these feel good chemicals can be triggered by smoking. Subsequently a pathway is developed in your brain to stimulate

Newbie to things like this.
Hi guys just wanted to say I'm new on here and I have been 4 days without a cigarette since I started vaping. I had tried the Vape pen in the past with only the tobacco flavour that came with it and I didn't rate it. I have since been re introduced to them with all the flavours and mechanical mods available
