Not to you lovely people but on this beautiful sunny day my family and i are going to say farewell to our mum. There are obviously mixed emotions but also the relief that (hopefully) my quit means I will not have to suffer the progressive and debilitating illness that took her life.
Mum knew years ago after diagnosis that smoking was killing her but she just couldn't stop. It shows the power that nicotine really can have over a person's life. It makes me very determined never to give in to that temptation again myself.
So, on this gloriously sunny day I thank both my mum and my dad, who I hope she is now with, for teaching me well, guiding me wisely and making me the stubborn mare that I am which has enabled me to be a few weeks off of 2 years quit <3

Ah Lily, so sorry to hear the sad news of your mum's passing. I hope it went off well and you can take some comfort that your mum is no longer in pain. Thinking of you and your family, you are all in my thoughts and prayers xxoo
So Sorry to hear of your Mums passing and thinking about you and your family. Im sure she's in a good place now and full of pride for what you've achieved.
Sounds like Your Mom continued smoking after being diagnosed with some very bad health issue. That your mom continued smoking isn't strange... what is strange is people quitting when it is too late. My friend continued to smoke after two strokes and quit when she got lung cancer. She is alive and yearning for her smokes. Surely cigarettes can't make it any worse.
Your Mum was no doubt more than happy when you quit Lily. Two years...awesome that you are still here helping.
LilyMay, big hugs being sent to you from all your friends here. Your mum is now at peace, having left a beautiful daughter, of whom she is very proud of, I'm sure
Thank you everyone for all your love and support. Mum had a beautiful send off and I'm sure wherever she is she will be happy and free and the horrible breathing problems xx
