Omg need to quit smoking so addicted feel like my lungs r on fire but still smoking

Hiya jb and a big warm welcome to quit support 😃

I think your lungs are telling you to quit, so now all ya have to do is plan how to quit and when to quit. You can decide to quit cold turkey or use nicotine replacement and there are a lot of different ways to help you. unfortunately it is an addition as you so rightly say and the lovely people on here will be able to help you. We have all been where you are now and know it takes a bit of planning to help get you started. You can do it and your lungs will definitely thank you for quitting as it really is the very best thing you can do for your health. Have a good look around the site and let's see if we can organize a plan for you 😃 x

Hi job, welcome to quit support.

Have you been to see your gp to see if you have an infection that may require antibiotics?

This just maybe your time to quit smoking. Yes smoking is an addiction which can be hard to quit and stay quit.

However, if you make a plan, set a quit date, and have the determination to quit you will do it. We have lots of lovely members here who are at various stages of their quit journey ranging from weeks to years.

Think about why you want to quit and write those reasons down, use these as your reminder in the early weeks of quitting.

There is a range of nicotine replacements (nrt) that is available to ease the withdrawals of smoking.

The support from members here is fantastic, and just knowing that the members understand what you are going through is a massive help.

Take a read of some of information under the topic headings as well as reading other people's quit journey.

Stopping smoking is the best thing you can do for yourself besides a better diet and exercise which are both great things to concentrate on to fill the void we all create when we stop smoking and realize what a stupid time waster smoking was.

You need to read a lot of stop smokimg advise and learn your enemy before you stop smoking.

You can do it. This site has good information. Consider cold turkey as it is the most successful method and its nicotine addiction that we have.

I read and watched everything he had on his site and then quit cold turkey.

It's proven to be the most successful long term method but it's not fot everyone.
