Any ideas: Naltrexone vs Prednisone
Hello people. I have been getting better as per pain management on the whole. Legs still ache at beginning of winter in the southern hemisphere. I was told I no longer have PMR tapering off Prednisone after 22 months as CRP 1.5 to .9 along. After feeling well for 2 wks having come off the pred.

Atkins Revisited.
This is a post Iāve had on the back burner for some time.āØ In earlier posts I have alluded that stalled weight loss could possibly be down to overconsumption of fat. This to many would be something of a heresy, but bear with me, We are exhorted to be liberal in our consumption of fat - indeed there

Oops I did it again!
Iām honestly so in love with low carb right now. Iām down 5lbs now. Today at church a lady told me Iām melting away to nothing. That was a bit of an exaggeration but sure made me feel inspired to push on. Tonightās dinner beef and broccoli. Yum! Have a great day everyone.

Newly diagnosed with NAFLD
Hi I was diagnosed with NAFLD this week. I am familiar with low carb and low sugar diets, but I am looking for suggestions on healthy snacks as feeling quite hungry a lot of the time. I also read that it is best to lose weight gradually. Previous to my diagnosis, I was trying the Keto diet which the

LCHF question about cooking beef mince
Iāve always drained fat off beef mince when cooking for ragu or chilli etc. But under LCHF should I leave the fat in, and would that be yucky to eat?

A Simple inexpensive Blood test can Predict whether you carry a CV risk in future or/and you carry a risk of type 2 Diabetes/metabolic synd
I was interacting yesterday with one of my close Cardiologist Friend (we were school friends), he tells me that one simple blood test- least expensive which people don't do- can predict if you carry any CV risk or type 2 diabetic risk.. For an existing type-2 , it can predict to what extent the beta

Feeling low, follow up to 3 months of stress
Hello everyone, Iām sorry I havenāt replied yet to everyone who responded to my earlier post about all the stress of the last months plus a move. Thank you for all your support. I know I whined quite a bit! We moved a month ago but are still getting settled. I did a lot of moaning about stresses

Second day trying to be low carb
I think I started out right today. For my breakfast I had a sausage patty and hard boiled egg. For lunch I plan to have a salad with turkey and blue cheese dressing. Not sure what supper will be yet. Gonna figure it out soon.

Hi Iāve been lurking here awhile. I am trying to lose 77 lbs. i has a fitness coach helping me do calorie counting and low fat everything. I stopped losing now and Iām missing fats. I admit Iāve been eating potatoes, rice, corn and beans this past month and Iām convinced those carbs stalled my weightloss

The Newcastle Diet : does it work?
If you're short on time, the brief answer is "for most people, no, not really". The longer answer is very interesting. Here's the summary of the 2-year followup, straight from the source: https://www.ncl.ac.uk/media/wwwnclacuk/newcastlemagneticresonancecentre/files/DiRECT%20-%202%20year%20results.pdf

What LCHF looks like for me...
Just posting this to show that LCHF does not have to be a huge heap of saturated fat. I'm getting a bit frustrated by people who hear that I'm "doing low carb", and they do not really understand much about it, are critical and make assumptions, and potentially influence other people away from what could

Hello! Newbie to this forum
Hi, Iāve been on the NHS weight loss forum for about a year but properly really from Feb where I discovered LCHF forum and from others the 16:8 fast. This has helped to get the weight loss going. I struggle to avoid carbs all the time but I know I can have a carbtastic day and then get back in the wagon
